I sent the following a few days ago, but I don't think it ever
reached the list, so I'm trying again.

I have the following line in my localaliases file

 lib|http://infolynx.ci.tucson.az.us/patroninfo/

 It takes me to http://infolynx.ci.tucson.az.us/patroninfo/

Is there any way I can modify the alias so it automatically enters
my
name and bar code into the appropriate fields?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried, but no cigar.

That site uses POST to get it's information, so a DQSD alias won't
work. Have you tried the DQSD Search Wizard yet? It should create a
vanilla search for you which 'fills out' the form, then you just have
to open the XML file in notepad and fill in the form values for your
account.

Thanks very much. I just tried that. I got the search blow.

 Remove these lines:
   if( nullArgs(lib, q) )
 return;

Reload DQSD (!) and try it again.

Super! That did it. Thanks very much for all the help.

RE: [DQSD-Users] Help

2003-03-10 Thread Shawn K. Hall
Hi Richard,

For the past couple of months I no longer can get my DQSD
to install. I keep getting error messages:
 ...
Each asks do I wish to continue running scripts on this
page? I've uninstalled, redownloaded more times that I can
remember. The program had been doing just fine. I've no
idea what I changed to cause this to happen.

I'm no expert at DQSD quite yet (only used it about a week), but
in the docs it makes note that several settings are persisted
through installations. It's possible that one of these is being
persisted and is causing your installation of the files that are
'bad' to be ignored/bypassed - thus causing the predicament
you're in.

Try renaming the directory C:\Program Files\Quick Search
Deskbar to *...backup or something similar and reinstall. If
you have any settings that you've changed after that point,
migrate them over one by one, (!) reload, and test them, after
each change to see in which change the failure occurs.

Have

I've never run it with DQSD, so I don't know if there's a clash.
When I said some things I meant some non-DQSD things.

Hi there,

Just upgraded to 3.1. Now, after using DQSD once or twice, I crash Explorer at :

EXPLORER caused a general protection fault
in module USER.EXE at 0007:1be2.

The previous version worked fine.

I even uninstalled, downloaded DQSD again, and reinstalled but same problem.

Can you help here? At worst, what is the easiest way to go back a version
without losing my personalizations? When I uninstalled, it removed things like
localprefs.js, which surprised me.

Thanks!
