Re: [DQSD-Users] Positioning issue with 4.0.0.4
Hi Bob, Sorry, we were talking at different issues. I thought you were trying to separate DQSD from the taskbar completely, while you're trying to integrate it into a multiline taskbar as a single row. I'm trying to, as you say below, have the DQSD bar as one row on the deskbar/taskbar. I'm able to do this with 4.0.0.3, but not with 4.0.0.4. I installed 4.0.0.4 tonight for the first time in order to ensure my changes would be compatible with the codebase, and after rebooting, and quite by accident, caused DQSD to be a single row under my quick launch bar. I don't doubt you're having problems, I'm just saying that the current 4.0.0.4 release does not prevent you from using it as a single row within a multiline taskbar, though it may be a pain to set it up the way you want. -Shawn - Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. Re: [DQSD-Users] Positioning issue with 4.0.0.4
I don't doubt that you did what you say either, but 4.0.0.4 is preventing ME from using it as a single row within a multiline taskbar. Possibly, there is a way that I haven't discovered to set it up, but I definitely can't do it the way I do it with 4.0.0.3. I'm running out of time to do anything with the custom dll right now. I'll check it out later tonight (4 or 5 hours from now). Hi Shawn, On Mon, Jun 2, 2008 at 10:19 PM, Shawn K. Hall [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: What Kim is saying is that DQSD cannot be separated from the windows deskbar. It must reside within your deskbar (the same region as the start menu and system tray) or there may be issues, especially after you reboot. Maybe that's what I was saying, but it wasn't what I meant :) I meant I found no way of actually moving the deskbar around /within/ the taskbar. It would just resize horizontally, even if the mouse pointer turned into a move cross. I did manage to drag it out of the taskbar entirely, that seemed to work as it always did. There's been only one single change to the deskband code, and it deals with the minimum size of the deskband--maybe that has something to do with it. I know we made it in response to a user bug report, but maybe we broke this scenario. Bob, would you be willing to test a non-official build with the old code, and see if that works? Re: [DQSD-Users] Positioning issue with 4.0.0.4
Yes, I think that's what I'm seeing. New to SP3? Possibly, but it's also new to 4.0.0.4 . 4.0.0.3 repositions correctly on SP3. At 2008-05-31 13:41, you wrote: Hi Bob, I'm not 100% sure I understand what you mean; I can't move DQSD 4.0.0.4 at all (except out of the taskbar), rather it just resizes. Is this what you're seeing too? Eek, I hope this isn't new to SP3... Apparently they removed the address bar, so maybe something else changed. - Kim On Sat, May 31, 2008 at 12:52 AM, Bob Coleman [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: As I recently stated in another context, I normally run with a double-width taskbar. Paying close attention today, I've discovered that I apparently drag DQSD onto the very bottom edge of the taskbar to position it where I want it. The point of all this is that I can do the above repeatedly with 4.0.0.3, but cannot find a way to drag 4.0.0.4 to the second row of the taskbar. For whatever it's worth, I'm running XP Home with SP3. I usually have my taskbar at the top rather than bottom of the screen, but that doesn't appear to be relevant to this issue. Re: [DQSD-Users] Positioning issue with 4.0.0.4
It's not SP3 and it's not true that the DQSD can't be moved at all. DQSD 4.0.0.3 on either SP2 or SP3 can be moved to the left of, the right of, or below another toolbar. DQSD 4.0.0.4 on either SP2 or SP3 can be moved to the left of or the right of another toolbar, but cannot be moved below another toolbar. Could this possibly be related to trying to fix the issue of DQSD in color schemes other than classic shrinking to half width when positioned below another toolbar? I have nothing upon which to base this question except the fact that both behaviors are related to positioning, or trying to position, DQSD on the lower half of a double-width taskbar.
