Charles,
How many of those certs do you really need right now? I believe what you
need most is the ONE cert that you will be using. If you renew one, you
maintain your electronic identity. Then, obtaining additional certs as
needed (if at all) is simple.

Given some of the PKI implementations that I have seen in my work,
this one is pretty easy. The best thing that I have seen that has
been done is the extension from 1 to 3 years...noticed that when I
renewed last week.
Also, with more and more companies, educational institutions,

True for me, but
I have a ticket to go to the VU4 Hamfest. My current India call sign is

The ARRL announced LOTW is now working for Worked All States (see

What you got was a notice that you have to renew your certificatation for your
call(s) which has to be done once per year. Likely they have a valid reason for
doing this. I have done it twice so far and haven't found it difficult to do. I
update my log for my one call sign a couple of

No seriously I think this will get more
DXers involved. Many overseas stations will now be able to get their WAS awards thus
more DX stations for those of us chasing DX and using LOTW.
Another way to encourage more DX participation would be
I'm a stamp collector. To use the usual LOTW arguments, it would certainly be easier, cheaper, quicker, just to collect jpeg's of the stamps, rather than the real thing...paraphrasing W3UR, "It would get more stamp collectors involved...would encourage more participation..." Right?

Bernie - W3UR,
Thanks for your comments and also the challenge you
threw out the the group.
What if the ARRL were to Meet You Half-Way?
If the first 25 QSO's confirmed in LOTW for the basic
WAS award were gratis for X amount of time, perhaps
that would be a good incentive to get the DX logs
How about providing instructions in languages other than English?

No there's not, Rob. There's a Spanish translation of N0AX's QST article.
I'm suggesting that the entire LotW web site be made available in multiple
languages. This includes usage instructions, the FAQ, account access, etc.
