I worked a bunch of countries on CW BEFORE CW was an authorized mode. These
things show up as confirmed for CW yet CW was not an authorized mode until
January 1, 1975. Is there a way to show them as mixed or not confirmed for
the CW mode? By showing up as
Hello Charlie,
This is a very good point. You only can do that using a Group starting at
Jan, 1, 1975. The DX4WIN documentation shows how you can do that.

However, this will not work if he has phone or mixed entity credits approved
prior to 1 January 1975. DX4WIN will try to submit them again.

I use a pair of Kenwood TS-850's. The interface to my computer is the
N6TR -- ultra-simplistic design. It works great, but DX4WIN does from
time-to-time generate a radio timeout message. If I spin the dial hard or
I'm just cruising up and down the band, I can without difficulty timeout the
radio.
Paul... the same thing happens with my 781... at one time it was a real
problem but doesn't dx4win have a retry now... I don't have the program
in front of me at work... but Paul made some changes quite a while back in
ver 5.03 that very much reduces the problem... are you running 5.03?
Seems
Nope. The documentation for v5.03 refers as well to the same port as that
set up for the radio. Strange.

I'm also using LPT1 for keying.

I have seen a lot of messages, but yes DX4WIN does support serial
keying
File | Preferences
Radio Tab, CW Keyer and chose either DTR or RTS on radio port. This depends
on the radio interface that you use and what pins are being used on the
interface (look at the schematics)

Yup... same here. Works like a champ.

I think the question is not whether DX4WIN supports serial port keying, but
whether it supports the selection of a serial port different from the radio
control
Agree with the analysis and the request. 73, Brian W3BW

At 06:41 PM 12/3/2002,
The radio does not use the same pins on Comm 1 as the cw output . hence
you can use com1 for both. I also believe the keying output also goes to
the parrallel port.

Paul mentioned in the past it's on the list...
In the mean time, Barry, you can find a rs232 Y connector and you'll be
in business... And save a port too.
