My old faithful PC running XP is getting a bit long in the tooth, so I have
a new W7 machine on order.
This may well have been covered off on previous posts, I admit to not yet
having done a complete search, but what's the current thinking on pit falls
to be aware of when doing a new installation
This is timely... I have a Windows 7 64-bit machine on order as well, and have
the same questions.

The main issue with Vista onwards is the Directory trees Program Files
and Program files (x86) are not normally writable... a change long
overdue. What I did to get around this was create a new directory tree I
call programs and install there, along with some other ham stuff that

You can download the demo version of 8.05 and try it out, it won't
break your existing installation. MAKE SURE to copy
