Craig, I have been watching this thread from afar, many thanks for taking it to final conclusion! I would be interested to hear from other people about LPT ports and COM ports. I am aware Vista does not support these ports only USB. So my question is, if one uses a USB CI-V cable (for example),

Tony, Thanks for your comments. Yes, Vista will work with virtual COM ports created by a USB-to-COM port dongle. I have an IOGear USB-to-COM port adapter that works for rig control and CW keying through my RIGblaster Pro. It shows up as COM4 in my Vista computer. I have just concluded testing
