I use the Group feature. Works very nice.

I know it won't help you now but I add 2012new in Notes for this
QSO field for new band worked in the current year. After that a simple
F8 search will give you each qso from whatever year. It's more
difficult if you import a larger number of qso's from various contest
program. There is a chance that the new ones are not yet cfm and then
they could be found by looking through dxcc listing or needed.

I'd like a way to get the details for that so that I can see what new

I don't know of a good way to do this. I worked five new countries
for the year (CQ Marathon) in the recent CQWW CW contest, but I can't
identify three of them without resorting to some crazy searches
outside DX4WIN, which I'm too lazy to do. I just wanted to know out
of curiosity more than anything else. The only ones I do know are 5H
(new all-time from Colorado) and EL, which I knew I wouldn't work
before the contest. I had already worked 7P and 5T earlier in the
year, so I know those weren't it.

Re: [Dx4win] rig control

2012-12-05 Thread ON4AOI
Hi John and others,
I am working on a FTDX3000 rigfile now
But don´t know yet if it will work ok

The following modes will not work like they aren´t in the ftdx5000 rigfile
PKT-FM = A, FM-N = B, PKT-U = C and AM-N = D simply because ABCD etc are not
recognized yet for modes in DX4WIN,

But now comes the worst part the MODE command
Cat manual page 12 shows
P1 0: main (VFO-A)
P1:1: sub (VFO-B)

FTDX5000 cmd = MD0; = in this case reads mode from VFO-A
FTDX5000 cmd = MD1; = in this case reads mode from VFO-B

For setting the modes on FTDX5000 its something similar

FTDX5000 cmd = MD01; = in this case sets mode from VFO-A to LSB
FTDX5000 cmd = MD11; = in this case sets mode from VFO-B to LSB

First number is for the VFO selection and second number(or letter not yet
supported by dx4win) for the mode.

Page 11 from the FTDX 3000 CAT manual shows now a BIG PROBLEM
P1 = 0:fixed

So until I find a proper cmd for setting VFO-B to the correct mode it will
not work

Or it’s a bug in there firmware or they simply forgot it to add in the
manual
I know some bugs in the ftdx5000 firmware but they don´t care about users
reporting this

Test my ftdx5000.rigfile and if its working OK then its only a bad manual
If not there is bigger problem that I can´t solve if I don´t find a cmd

Lurking further in the CAT cmd

Been trying the 3000 with DX4WIN using the FT950 Rig file. Other than being
slow, I notice that when in either SSB or RTTY and Clicking on a spot from
the DX spot window, the rig will go to the correct Frequency, but will not
put VFO B in the correct mode. Always goes to CW. I am not one to be able to
play with the Rig Files, but hope that Paul or someone can get a Rig File
for the 3000. Thanks, John W9RPM

Re: [Dx4win] rig control

2012-12-05 Thread W9RPM
Guy, thanks much for working on this. The 3000 works with your 5000 rig
file except when I click on a Split spot it will put the rig in split,
but doesn't do the correct Mode in VFO B, and then Times out. With the
950 Rig file the rig will go into Split, but VFO B, not correct mode.
But the radio doesn't time out. Thanks again, John W9RPM

Once the submitted flags are set, do an F8 search for DXCC BAND
submitted flag, then export to ADIF, when it asks you whether to use
current filter, answer YES. Do the same for DXCC MODE and DXCC MIXED
submitted flags. You'll end up with three files. Those are the ones
you upload.

This was covered when ARRL first released this feature, all in the
DX4WIN list archives.
