I've done that using Excel Pivot Table then uploading to my website SQL database. You can see it at www.py2yp.com looking for DX Statistics. Even with a wildcard (JA*) in the callsign field you'd only get calls matching exactly JA*, you would get things like JR, JH, etc. However, with that said, you could use that to filter down then export from logbook. Personally I'd just use F8, enter JA in the Prefix field and 80m in the Band field. You'll have the results in the Logbook, which you can export using "write to file". You'd then import the resulting CSV file and use one of the spreadsheet programs to find the uniques. You can use F8 to search for QSOs made using FT8, but a DXCC status report will still include all QSOs in your log. You will have to export your FT8 QSOs into a separate log to see what you want. Using F8, search your log for Mode=FT8. Then use File | Import/Export to export the search results to an ADIF file. Use File | New in DX4WIN to create a new, empty log file. Give it a temporary name, definitely NOT the same name as your main logbook. Then import those FT8 QSOs from the previous step into this new log. From there, you can do a DXCC report to see how many DXCC entities you have worked on FT8. The same goes for FT4, but for the F8 search, you need to search for Mode=MFSK and Submode=FT4. If you want to see combined DXCC statistics for both FT4 and FT8, export the QSOs made with those two modes separately, then import both FT4 and FT8 ADIF files into the same empty DX4WIN log. 73 - Jim AD1C __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

The full instructions for creating symbolic links are here: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/ Here's the quick start: 1. Start by opening a Command Prompt in Administrator mode. From the Start menu, find "Windows System" and right-click on "Command Prompt'. Follow the "More" link and then click "Run as Administrator". 2. Determine the location of your WSJT-X log directory. Here is one way: cd %localappdata% C: dir You should see a WSJT-X directory there. The full path should look something like this: C:\Users\jjrei\AppData\Local\WSJT-X 3. Now determine the location of your DX4WIN SAVE directory. Mine is here: E:\dx4w903\save 4. "cd" into your DX4WIN save directory: cd E:\dx4w903\save E: 5. Finally, create the link. Here is the command I used: E:\dx4w903\save> mklink /D WSJT-X C:\Users\jjrei\AppData\Local\WSJT-X (do not type the part *before* the >, only the part beginning with "mklink" That's all there is to it. The next time you want to import using "File | Import", you will see the WSJT-X link in your SAVE directory. Double-click on that link, and you'll find your WSJT-X ADIF file there. This is not limited to WSJT-X, you can create links to anything you want. 73 - Jim AD1C __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

In order to apply for DXCC submission using the DXCC ON LINE in the ARRL site I need to generate an ADIF file selecting cards only. This first step was easy, I did uncheck the LOTW option in AWARDS tab and asked the DX4WIN to generate the SUBMISSION form. Is that any way to generate an ADIF from this form, I mean, selecting S in the DXCC band box and S in the DXCC band mode? If I select S for bands and then S for mode I would generate 2 ADIF files. Of course it is not possible to select both S (band and mode) at the same time. How are the users doing their applications? You are right Teijo, a dupe definition is mandatory before thinking about removing. A dupe is a nearly exact time, say a 5 minutes window or precisely the same time, resulting either from typing old logs or importing old logs. Does it mean a dupe like in a contest i.e. a separate contact that has been made on the same band but at a different time? I think that in this case it is a bad idea to remove the dupes from the log. The dupe contact might be the only one that is both in your log and the other stations log. The first occurence might not be in the other stations log at all for some reason (he/she worked somebody else, had a computer glitch etc). Next you have to indicate the group number for the QSO's in this log. Go File | Preferences | QSO, and fill 2 in the Group field. I assume you have 1 for the first log. Next import all the QSO's into this log. Now you can handle the 2 different logs accordingly or you can merge the two logs. I did endorse only via LOTW late December, the paper application will be sent this month, so I had this problem: how to change S to C in the DX4WIN once all the Ss included the paper cards Ss as well? I mean: how to change only the Ss referred to LOTW credits to C at once? I found out a very easy and fast procedure. I did as follow: 1. In Change Award Flag I cleared all Ss selecting clear submitted option; 2. In Award Setup for DXCC I cleared the QSL Card box; 3. In Award Generator I selected Submission option. However, changing those Submitted entries to Checked in your awards table after they are approved by the DXCC desk is a tedious manual process. When purchasing hundreds of LoTW credits recently I vowed that I would write a utility program to enter the credited data back into DX4Win... which is what LoTWCreditToDX4WinAward.exe does. This utility program is difficult to setup and run. It relies upon a feature of the DXLabs DXKeeper program to: reach out to the LoTW website, extract all of your CREDIT history (for both QSL cards and LoTW transactions), compare all of your credit history with your log, and make adjustments where appropriate. It also requires that you export your DX4Win v8 log to a DXQ file, massage it with the utility program, and import the massaged file back into a fresh log in DX4Win. Complicated? Yes. Was there any other way to accomplish the task? ? Not that I could see. Please don't confuse a QSO CONFIRMATION from LoTW (which is what happens when you download an LoTW report and import it into DX4Win) with LoTW CREDIT (which is what happens when you pay money to the ARRL for award credit). The first is easy; the second requires some heavy lifting. If you are feeling adventurous and don't mind installing the DXLabs DXKeeper application suite as part of the process, you will find instructions and the utility program on my website at: http://www.k8ut.com/tiki-index.php?page=LoTW+Credits+-to-+DX4Win+Awards+Utility As I said - this is not easy and I would not encourage computer novices to attempt it. BUT - if you want to compare and update your DX4Win Award Credit records with those from the ARRL, I think this is the only automated game in town. -larry (K8UT) __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 7850 (20130101) __ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Submitting ADIF file for card-only DXCC application
Yes, it works very well; I did exactly you write a few days ago. I wonder if there is any way to mix together the mode and band ADIF files but I can upload the files separetly without any problem. I also have some misunderstanding how the ARRL online application does sort the application. I did try sorting the ADIF file either by call or by date and got the same result from the site, I think the site application has its own default, am I right? HNY to all. 73 DX de PY2YP - Cesar On 31/12/2012 20:19, Jim Reisert AD1C wrote: Before I left for a week of vacation (back now), I found a relatively painless way to generate a card-only DXCC application in ADIF format. I plan to document this elsewhere, but wanted to present it here, before I forgot. I'm sorry that it's probably too late to make the 12/31 annual listing deadline for most people. Please make sure of the following: 1. You have downloaded your Logbook of the World confirmations from the ARRL LoTW web site, and imported these into DX4WIN (LoTW | Import from LoTW). 2. You DXCC award is configured for both QSL card and LoTW confirmations. You can do this via the Reports menu, then by clicking on the Awards button at the bottom-right of the Report generator window. 3. You are using the DX4WIN award flags to track Checked (approved) and Submitted DXCC credits. 4. This method assumes that you will submit all possible LoTW confirmations for credit, and only QSLs for which you do not have a LoTW confirmation. In other words, if you are trying to save money by submitting as many QSL cards as possible, and thus as few LoTW confirmations as possible, this method isn't for you. There are two ways to do this: the systematic way, or the brute-force way. Systematic way: 1. Perform a DXCC submission through the ARRL Logbook of the World web site. This will submit all of your electronic confirmations. 2. Manually change the correspond DXCC award flags to Submitted for each credit submitted through the LoTW web site. After this is done, it is a good time to save your DX4WIN log. 3. Perform a DXCC submission in DX4WIN, via the Reports menu. You can save or print the submission report, but you really don't need it. (continue at #4 below) Brute-force way: 1. Perform a DXCC submission through the ARRL Logbook of the World web site. This will submit all of your electronic confirmations. 2. Perform a DXCC submission in DX4WIN, via the Reports menu. You can save or print the submission report, but you really don't need it. 3. Adjust the DXCC award flags so that the same QSOs that were submitted for credit via LoTW are marked as Submitted in DX4WIN. This may mean that some QSOs confirmed by paper QSL no longer need to be marked as Submitted. At this point, all of the confirmations you want to submit will be marked as Submitted in DX4WIN. Now you want to identify those for which you need to submit QSL cards. 4. Depending on the type of DXCC credits you will be submitting, you may need to create up to three ADIF files - one for DXCC Mixed, one for DXCC Mode, and/or for DXCC band. Make sure your QSO window is expanded to show the Award flags (use F5 until you see them). 4a. For DXCC Mixed submissions, perform an F8 search. You will want to search for 'Y' in the Cnfm field on the line that starts with Label, 'N' in the Cnfm field on the line that starts with LoTW, and 'S' in the Award flags in the DXCC column, Mixed row. If the search reports No matching QSO found, then continue on to step 4b below. Otherwise, in the main DX4WIN menu, File | Import/Export. You should see the Import/Export Filters window, and the ADIF row should be highlighted. In this window, choose File | Export from the menu. DX4WIN will ask if you want to use the current filter. Answer Yes. Save the resulting ADIF file to something like 2012_MIXED.adi. 4b. For DXCC Band submissions, perform an F8 search. You will want to search for 'Y' in the Cnfm field on the line that starts with Label, 'N' in the Cnfm field on the line that starts with LoTW, and 'S' in the Award flags in the DXCC column, Band row. [Dx4win] QR-Code
On behalf of the author, PY1KN, a suggestion that should be considered to the wish list. 73 de PY2YP - Cesar Automated QSL reading -- a suggestion for software developers Marcelo Gomes -- PY1KN ARRL's LOTW is a great thing, saving a lot of work for managers of large dx-peditions or big contest stations, as well as active Dxers. However, paper QSL cards are not going to disappear anytime soon. Whenever I receive a bunch of QSL cards from the bureau, I have to manually enter the other station callsign in my logging software and look for matches in my logbook. Then I can take appropriate action, marking the QSO as confirmed and marking a QSL for printing. If you receive a large batch it can take many hours. There must be a better way. Nowadays QR-codes have become ubiquitous, as its an easy way to create free format machine readable information. So, if in addition to the traditional QSO data lines e can add a QR code with the same information, the logging software could decode and search for matches and take appropriate action. The best solution would be to set a standard way to write the QSO data. I´ve made a simple test, writing 5 QSOs with W1AW, using ; as field separator according to the following pattern: Callsign mmdd ;hh:mm; Mhz; band; mode; RS(T); QSL A sample 5-QSO data in this format would look like W1AW 20120130;00:10;21.025;15M;CW;599;PSE 20120131;01:22;14.185;20M;SSB;59;PSE 20120317;22:12;10.145;30M;RTTY;599;TKS 20120401;10:00;;12M;PSK31;599;PSE 20120718;23:18;7.023;40M;CW;599;PSE Note that the 4^th QSO has no frequency info, just the band. In this case the blank fiels results in 2 adjacent separators (;;) The resulting QR-Code image is example would be: This image could be added to my outgoing QSL to W1AW. A QSL printing service like GlobalQSL could generate it automatically from the QSO data uploaded and print it directly in the card. The printing routines of the logging programs could include the option to print it on a blank space of the card, or on a label, A QR-image can hold up to 255 characters, if we consider typical line with the formatting I used as holding 36 characters, there is space to easily fit 8 QSOs in the image. I have tried to use a leaner format, eliminating the frequency information, the hour-minute separator (:), the M abbreviation in the band and use only P or T for QSL status, link the example below, but the gain is not relevant, especially if we consider that plain text information also has to appear in the card. In practice, we don't see more than 7 QSO lines in a card. WIAW 20120401;1000;160;RTTY;599;P (example of more condensed formatting) The first software developer who jumps into this will set the standard. Maybe we don't need the frequency information, maybe we can just write P or T for the QSL PSE or TKS. Time will tell if this idea evolves. -- 73 DX de PY2YP - Cesar __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] DXCC field
The field I was referring to is DXCC status (Mixed, Band, Mode) where we mark S, C or I. I don't know what happes with the FR/J row. Jim, do you still have my log? [Dx4win] Opening CSV file
Referring to my previous post, the problem: - When opening any CSV file generated by the DX4WIN, the FR/J Juan de Nova; Europe row was left blank, e.g. the data mysteriously disappeared. - Jim found out what was causing the problem: it was the semicolon ; between Nova and Europe. Somehow the Excel truncated the rest of the line when changing text to columns. Of course this was not a DX4WIN problem. The solution: open the CSV with the Windows Notepad, put around the country name, select all (CTL-A) then past (CTL-V) into the spreadsheet. It might be a good idea if the DX4WIN put around the country name as shown here: Juan de Nova; Europe. May I include this into the wish list?
