[Dx4win] CAT Commands from DX4WIN

2018-03-01 Thread Byron Peebles
I saw your Post to the DX4WIN list.  The N1MM+ Logger supports something
similar by using a logger command that tells it to send the command to
the CAT interface of the radio. I am not aware that DX4WIN has this,
although I do feel it would be a great feature and not difficult to
implement.

reference:
http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php?page=Macros#CATAHEX_CATIHEX_CATAASC_CATIASC_CATACTASC_CATACTHEX_Macro_Commands

The first usability difference is N1MM+ Logger has a row of function
keys displayed "in QSO mode", while DX4WIN has always expected you to
memorize QSO Input accelerator keys, so maybe this feature would require
a revamp of how the QSO window looks.

Re: [Dx4win] CAT

2017-10-24 Thread ON4AOI
Hi Cesar
This looks normal to me since polling the radio(s) >>--- FOR ALL BRANDS ---
only starts when you push F9 and not before.

When you start using for example WSJT(-x) and your radio is "NOT ON" but
configured in the setup the program crashes all the time until your radio is
ON.

So the reason is very simple if your Radio was "NOT ON" in dx4win you will
get time out etc
Not a crash but before F9 you have the option to start with or without
Radio.

I have a FT-2000 correctly wired, everything works fine except that the
DX4WIN only sends data to the radio when the log entry is set to receive
data input, F9 pressed. When the DX4WIN is not set for data input the radio
remains connected but no sends information to the peripherals, as SPE
amplifier or antenna switch, say, if I change the band on the radio the
amplifier and antenna switch remain where they were, no band switches. It
also happens with the band map window, say, its only follow the radio if the
F9 was pressed. This behavior doesn't happen when using WSJT, MMTTY for
example. I've had this problem from DX4WIN previous versions and also when
using FT-1000MP and FT-1000MP Mark V.

Can someone using Yaesu try to replicate this issue, please?

Re: [Dx4win] CAT problem YAESU MK-V

2017-10-21 Thread kostas sv1dpi

Hello Aki

Can you describe better your problem. I use a Mark V myself and I have
not seen a problem. If a spot has the word SSB in comments, dx4win (both
previous and current version) thinks that this spot is an SSB spot and
turns the radio to SSB. Is this your problem? Under what conditions you
expected to go in pkt and it goes to ssb?

I believe there are not changes in code on cat control. Only Paul can
say if these are the same files from Jim's site or new ones, so it is
possible to have bugs. I assume you use files from Jim's site for these
radios. don't you? Also please confirm that you have the same settings
in both versions for the 2 radios? Anyone else who has tried Icoms 7300

[Dx4win] CAT 20 meters always sets USB

I am using DX4WIN 8.04 and the DXCluster.  The only rig setting issue I have is
for 30 meter spots.  DX4WIN always changes the rig to USB rather than CW.  Odd
since there is no USB activity on that band.

Somewhere there is a file or setting that I have not found.  I looked in the
DX4WIN preferences and did not see anything for this

[Dx4win] Cat problems with Dx4win

2013-02-24 Thread Kostas SV1DPI
One closed friend asked me to help to solve a problem with cat control
and dx4win. I solved the problem but i would like to mention it here.
Maybe someone has the same and find a solution or Paul does something
for it. So...
My friend had a kenwood 850 and a serial cat interface bought from ebay.
He used a prolific usb to serial interface to connect it with the
computer. Dx4win was giving timeout while Ham Radio Deluxe could read
normally the radio!!! After some search the problem found to be that usb
to serial was plugged to a usb hub. When we plug the usb to serial
direct to a computer's usb, both dx4win and HRD work normally. I suppose
that dx4win waits for a quicker response from the radio in compare with
HRD. Tests with a slower poll rate (I think 500ms) didn't solved the
problem.

[Dx4win] CAT problem partially solved.

2012-03-12 Thread David Edwards
I've tried everything to get vspMGR to work and not time out. Thanks to Jim
KJ2P who alerted me to Zombie ports Nothing I do completely deletes the
Eltima ports from Win 7 64 bit. You delete ports from vspMGR (Ran as admin)
they don't go away. You go into control panel and uninstall the drivers. They
disappear from the device manager. Next reboot they are back. Then you
uninstall the ports again and next reboot they are back with the yellow
exclamation mark.

This is not an indictment of vspMGR or Eltima. Most likely the blame lies with
Win7 64 bit and of course it could be operator error but I usually find my dumb
mistakes within a day. This has gone on for over a week. Once I find out why
those ports have 9 lives I'll try vspMGR again.

Installed VSPE and works perfect no timeouts all day.

Thanks to all who helped and recommended VSPE.

[Dx4win] CAT problems with TS950SDX

2010-04-06 Thread Andy P Hewitt
Hello all,

I hope that one of the PC gurus on this reflector may be able to help me
with a small inconvenience that has occurred.

I am using ver. 8.02 and have two rigs connected a) a TS950SDX and b) a
TS570s (used mainly for 6m). The CAT interface has been working fine since I
upgrade from 7.XX to 802 that was until recently. The CAT with the 570 is
still OK with frequency and mode control all working as it should. But with
the TS950SDX DX4Win will not display the band or frequency when the 950 is
on 18MHz. It does not matter which VFO it is trying to read, it just sticks
at the band selected in PREFERENCES/QSO/default band, in this case 21MHz. I
have changed the default band and that makes no difference. If I change the
rig to another band the frequency displayed in the QSO window changes, go
back to 18MHz and it sticks on the default band. It will change to any other
band just not 18MHz.

However if I click on a 18MHz spot in the spot window or on the band map it
changes to 18MHz. Just won't follow the rig if I change the band on the
keyboard.

I suspected a problem with the 950 but not so, the rig works perfectly well
with all the other logging programs I have on the PC. (N1MM, MixW, WinTest,
G4FON Contest and MMTTY).

In PREFERENCES/RADIO I have selected TS-850-950, there are ticks in the
boxes for default address and baud rate (4800). No ticks in boxes for DTR
and RTS. I use a MicroHam KW USB interface.

Thanks for any advice.

[Dx4win] CAT and RTTY

2007-08-31 Thread F6EXV
Hi all !
I just plugged a CAT cable to my computer, and it seems to work fine,
except that I operate my FT1000MP Mk V in RTTY using the packet connections.
The QSO is really RTTY but it shows PKT (which is a correct reading, but
wrong info !).
Is this solved on the Yaesu, or through DX4Win ?
I use version 7.01, and Windows2000 XP.
Thanks in advance for enlightning me !

[Dx4win] CAT and Polling

2006-09-09 Thread David Edwards
I just wanted to share what I found out about polling. Turns out that DX4WIN
only polls the radio in ADD REAL TIME mode. Since I was almost never in that
mode -- no polling. As always these issues turn out to be operator error. Once
I switch to ADD REAL TIME mode the polling works as expected.

thanks to all for the help

[Dx4win] CAT with FT-897D?

2004-10-20 Thread Isidro Acosta Hernndez
Hello all. I am trying to use DX4Win v6.02 with a FT-897D. I used the
FT-847 .rig file, but it lacks some functionalities (split, A/B VFO). Does
any fellow have the config data to it? Many thanks in advance.

Subject: [Dx4win] Q: Filter Setting w/DX4Win
Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'm cross posting this to Ten TEc and DX4Win reflectors.

When I set the radio to a SSB on any band, the spot using the listen
button, the mode is correct, but the BW goes to 1800 Hz (I have the
filter installed) and 'enabled' in the FILTR Menu.

When I set the radio to a CW spot on any band using the listen
button, the mode is correct (LCW),but the filter goes to 2400 Hz

When I set the radio to a 160/80/40m SSB spot using the listen
button, the mode is correct, but the BW goes to 3000 Hz.

What have I done wrong?

Thaks in advance 73,

[Dx4win] CAT

2004-05-01 Thread Paul GRANGER
Hello all

Using a Yaesu FT1000MP Mark V, I have just upgraded from v5.03 to v6.02
of DX4Win.
Previously, the CAT light was on continuously on the rig.
Now it blinks all the time, also creating some noise when it does (on 20m).
Anyone using the same rig, having the same trouble or having found the
solution ?
Thank you for enlightning me (us ?)

[Dx4win] CAT

2004-05-01 Thread KC9JS, John
Paul
In DX4win go to File/Preferences/Radio and change the Poll rate (ms). This
will change the rate in which DX4win polls your MKV. I have mine set at 1000
ms for my Yaesu FT-1000MP MKV and it works fine. With this setting the CAT
light will be on every second, which is fast enough.

As for the noise, are you using shielded control cable (DB9) between the MKV
and your computer. If not I would give it a try.
