Josep, When you mark the QSO for sequenced printing, the label field is not set, instead the sequenced print field is set. Hi guys, have an issue with F2 key. It is supposed to mark the QSO as confirmed and turn to Y for printing the label. Well, it marks the contact as confirmed but it does not turn to Y to print the label.! Any tips for that.? Mike, I just tried F2 on my most recent QSO, pretending that he sent me a QSL. Thanks Paul, I should have specified, I'm EY8MM's new QSL manager and have a stack of 34 cards here. Yes, this is for confirming incoming cards, but I also want to have the QSL date and method in the log. What is default value for label ? You can change it manually for those QSOs, and put or leave a N, input the date and change method to direct. [Dx4win] DX4WIN F2 Key Update
Thanks to all of you that replied to my question. I did not realize that the F2 key function was in the preferences section. Not even sure it was in version 5.xx, but maybe as it's been so long ago. When I updated to version 8.03 from 5.xx nothing at all was checked under the F2 key preferences. Made the correction and working fine again. Also made other settings changes to speed things along for me so it was a nice refresher to look at those preferences again :) The next project I should work on is getting 8.03 updated to the latest 8.04... Just a quick question Running version 5.xx for years it sure was nice to hit the F2 key to confirm contacts. I've been running version 8.03 now for awhile but get frustrated that the F2 key does not confirm the contact anymore. Is it a bug in this version? In the latest version out (8.04) I think, Does the F2 key confirm the contacts again or am I missing something fairly easy here? It gets to be a pain to go to the confirm field and select Y then click on save changes?. Another quick question Is there a manual out for version 8.xx yet? Glad you explained that Jim. Was wondering what it was supposed to do myself. Just hitting the up arrow in the date field will set the current date. I use this when I manually QSL. And here is a suggestion to Paul for the future: When replying to cards... you don't want to set the label flag for DXpeditions for example. If F2 is configured to set the flag, it's annoying to have to unset the label each time. Perhaps implement a shift-F2 to suppress the label? And maybe a Ctl-F2 to set the QSL-date and method to direct for the cards not going by bureau? Would speed things up when you have hundreds of cards to process. Hi John, I don't know that F2 ever did this. * If the QSL date was NOT set, the F2 may set Label=Y, but that's a future operation so no date is filled in. * If the QSL dates was set, presumably because you already sent a QSL, then the F2 key can optionally change the QSL date to today's date (i.e. the date you received the QSL, as opposed to the date you SENT the QSL). In other words, F2 can mark a QSL to be sent in the future, but it can't mark that you are sending a QSL *right now*. I believe that's the way it always has been. Paul still has not released a fix yet. [Dx4win] F2 functionality
Hello all. Is this a bug ? I have been using DX4WIN version 1.2 since 1996 - was very pleased with this software and decided to upgrade to 8.02. Now 8.02 version is installed. I discovered that F2 key doesn't work as it should. If go to Preferences F2 key and put a mark only for MARK QSO AS CONFIRMED, If I use ( pres) F2 in the QSO window the software changes Cnfm field to Y, but at the same time it changes Label filed to Y (means for label printing) But the label printing has separate mark box in the PreferencesF2 key setting menu and it's not marked. Blank I saw a note earlier where someone was having problems with the F2 key operation; just catching up on QSL chore; and I think I have found a bug (=undesirable feature!) In DX4Win 7.06.02 : Preferences: F2 Key has Mark QSO as confirmed box checked; Labels drop down set to Y Observed operation Search QSO to be confirmed (F8) Press F2, Label = Y, no QSL date set, Cnfm changes state to Y So, correctly, DX4Win has flagged that the QSO is not confirmed, and prepared a QSL for printing. In DX4Win 8.02 Preferences : F2Key has both Mark QSO as confirmed Mark for printing a Label checked. (Set QSL date has no consequence for this issue) Observed operation Search QSO to be confirmed (F8) Press F2 Key; Cnfm is set to Y immediately; and dialogue box says QSO confirmed already, set label flag? This operation should, and was previously automatic; it is not a repeat QSL! [Dx4win] F2 Key?
Hi, Dx4win says the F2 key can be programmed to alert you of different awards a QSL Card could apply for when confirming (Y). This would be nice in tracking a QSO for awards. *BUT* it doesn't say how ??? Anyone working this angle? Tnx es 73, de Bernie/WO2N.
