Re: [Dx4win] Filtering digi spots

2023-12-12 Thread ON4AOI via DX4WIN
Hi Juha,
Yes there is a way but not 100% bullet proof and only for FT8 not FT4 since
this is Mode MFSK Submode FT4
I suggest you start with write configuration file in Setup Parameters
Copy that file on a usb stick or safe place.

Now in Setup Parameters
Under "QSO" change all bands CW CUTTOFF frequency so that the FT8 freq is
not part of CW
The reason why I wrote not bullet proof is that some expeditions use another
freq than the
normal FT8 freq and can be in the CW PART

Under Packet 3 tab select the bands you need and in Modes only FT8

Safe this and normally only FT8 spots will get into DX SPOTS WINDOW

Hi,

Is there a way in DX4WIN to filter out digi (FT8) band mode points away? I
sold my soul recently to K1JT and FT8 and now that I have activated DIG to
DXCC and FT8 spots I am seeing FT8 spots being a new mode point for each
DXCC. I am not going to start working every country again on FT8 just to
sort out the DX Spots window. I would like to see new countries and band
points only on FT8.

Not sure what you expected when specifying a time in a filter.

The current implementation uses a window of 8 minutes around the time you
specify.

To Jim and others on and off the reflector.

Thanks for the various suggestions and work-arounds.  The one I like
best is the one to use the same file produced for LoTW to update
Clublog, I just need to be more rigorous in my own procedures.  Then I
can look at the syncing feature in Clublog to make it even simpler.

Now it is of secondary and minor importance but I would still be
interested why the filter/search including the time did not work as
expected, and whether it is supposed to work, and if so how? Not urgent.

DX4WIN already has a feature to avoid duplicate QSOs.

File | Preferences | QSO tab, make sure that "LoTW" is checked under
"Label/Upl flag". Each new QSO will have the "LoTW" flag set in your
logbook. When you want to export for LoTW or Club Log, LoTW | Export

It will then clear those flags, and put today's date in the "Upload
Date" field. This will prevent them from being exported again. You
don't have to use the LoTW flag for this, you could use the eQSL flag
instead if you don't use that service.

Personally, every time I Export to LoTW, I upload those QSOs to Club
Log. Club Log has a feature called "LoTW Sync" where it uploads any
new QSOs to LoTW on your behalf:

 https://clublog.org/lotw/

One upload, two consumers. And I don't have to remember which QSOs I
uploaded to which service.

[Dx4win] Filtering with time as well as date

2019-12-02 Thread David Gould
I would like to be able to filter logbook records based on **time** as
well as just date and time.  When I try I get odd results.

Yesterday I made 18 QSOs.  After the first 16,  I did an upload to
Clublog thinking that was it for the day.  I then made 2 more QSOs.  ( I
know I can upload all of them and Clublog would ignore the duplicates -
but I thought I would try and be more efficient and try and upload just
the two new ones)

My log looks like this

9 QSOs before 16:00

Then QSOs at 16:18  16:28  16:36  16:39  16:40  16:42  16: 43 (Clublog
upload)  16:49  21:26  All the 16:00 QSOs were on 17m the 21:26 one was
on 40m.

To try and just select the last two new QSOs I did Filter / Search and
set date as 01/12/2019  and time as 16:45 and end date as 01/12/2019.
(no end time option)

The filter search results returned 5 records, the QSOs from 16:39 to
16:49 but not the one at 21:26.   Also why were just some of the QSOs
before 16:45 included?

Have I missed something, perhaps an additional setting somewhere?    Is
what I am trying to do supposed to be possible? If so how?

Howard, this is best done on the DX Cluster node to which DX4WIN is
connected. Ask your sysop for help.

VE7CC makes a program to help you do this, it sits between DX4WIN and
the cluster. See:

I have read the threads about setting your computer for last nights
change to DST.

Unfortunately AFAIK, Microsoft did not provide any patch for Windows 98
computers which so many of use use with DX4Win.

Last night, my main Linux computer, acting as a time server, changed my
Windows 98 logging computer to the correct time but GMT time is an hour off.

Does anyone know of a simple way in Windows 98 to change the offset to GMT?

I have been looking at a program called TZADJUST which claims to make
such adjustments but the readme is so poorly written I can't understand
what to do. Has anyone tried this program?

My fallback alternative is to make sure to change any qso times between
now and April and do the same tor the week when DST gets cancelled.

Yes, it is easy. Just download the TZEDIT files, store them at
WINDOWS\ADDINS directory and run the TZEDIT.EXE file. Do the changes
accordingly and save. That?s it.

If you don't find the TZEDIT files please drop me a note, I will send you.

[Dx4win] Filtering and Award Tracking

2007-03-10 Thread Kelly Johnson
Is there a way of making the award tracking of DX4WIN exclude QSOs
according to a criteria such as Group Number? My log is currently
split into 5 group numbers: 1 for each callsign/station-location I've
had since becoming a ham. All of the QSOs are valid for DXCC since
they are all in the U.S, but for 5BWAS all QSO's need to be made from
within a 50 mile radius. That means (for me) only groups 3 and 4
should be used for 5BWAS award tracking.

Kelly,

QSO Window | Filter | Selection
Click Add
Replace: 'Replace this name' with 5BWAS
Enable: Group Filter
Double-Click on Group 3 and on group 4
Click on Update
Click on Ok

You now have a selection filter 5BWAS and it is active.
When you open a log or start DX4WIN no filter is active,
you have to enable again.
QSO Window | Filter | Selection
Select 5BWAS
Click Ok

Award counts etc. now only 'see' the QSOs matching the group numbers
of the 5BWAS filter.
If you want to see all QSOs, same procedure, except select the
filter 'All QSOs'.

Group filters allow you to have start/end dates.

The LoTW software accomodates multiple QTHs from the same callsign.

by a date range. From what I can tell, filtering by date only
results in a greater than result. Is it possible to create a
file/filter by date range with a start and end date?

[Dx4win] Filtering by date range?

2003-09-22 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Barry,

You'll need to use the Groups and Selection options. Once you identify the
name, e.g. W2UP/2 VHF Rover EM19, or something, you can then filter with both a
beginning and ending date. From that point on, should you ever go back to
the same location, all you need do is select Group 2 or Group 4 as the
logging default, new QSOs will be added properly, etc. (Don't forget to go
back to
the home QTH group, when appropriate.) I just got done doing the same thing
for 7 different QTHs so that my LoTW entries credit for the proper state. I
decided NOT to take my log down to the county level, however.

GL,
Steve

Yes, absolutely. during the beta test I submitted ADIF-based files for my
1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 QSOs. I think you'll find that if you
specify a start date the program asks you for an end date as the next step
in the process.

[Dx4win] Filtering and DXCC Award Submission

2002-04-08 Thread Duane A Calvin
Just for calibration, I started submitting in 1992, and it appears all my
submissions have been logged as to call, band, mode, and date. For
whatever it's worth . . .

I had worked with Michael off line and his question is different than
 yours.

I see no reason why marking the first card received would be
 beneficial when
in fact, it is the card that was submitted and checked by ARRL that
 is
important. Until recent years, they did not even keep track of the
 band
 that was submitted.

In most cases that I am aware of, the cards are usually submitted
 when a
little over 100 are confirmed and for most of us, this was a paper
submission, followed up by yearly submissions since that time.

Since you have probably submitted many of the 293 cards, you
 probably simply
need to mark them as checked by mode, band, and mixed, if that is
 the DXCC's
that you have applied for. Since you have 5BDXCC, this implies that
 you
will need to mark over 500 bands also.

Since each time you make a submittal, ARRL now mails you a nice
 printout of
each of the modes, bands, calls, etc, that they have on their
 records, the
real problem usually comes down to making this OFFICIAL record,
 match the
CHKD records in DX4WIN. I have not come up with a good way to do
 this, but
after a little work, it is fairly easy to maintain.

Is it that only Michael and I are the only ones interested in
 knowing if
DX4WIN can sort confirmed cards by first or last confirmed? I
 haven't seen
any replies to his or my message, did anybody see them?

As I was entering the cards, I was using the F2 key to check on

If I reset the DXCC submission flags, can I filter or sort my log

pickup the first QSO that shows confirmed from each DX country in

If this doesn't work, any tips on this area would be great.

I think Michael has something here. DX4WIN looks for the most
 recent QSO's
for submission. Well, I have a file box that I have been placing
 all of my
new DXCC countries QSL Cards in since i was licensed. That means
 the box
has the first QSO with a new country confirmed in it. There are
 293
cards in that box. I also did the same thing with 10 meter WAS when
 I was
a novice. I have never submitted for an award. So it would be nice
 if you
could make DX4WIN look both ways (either first confirmed or last
confirmed). I'm sure I am not the only one who has sorted his DXCC
countries this way. I also have 5BDXCC confirmed, 5BWAZ (189 worked
 185
confirmed) and close to 5BWAS worked,(Not really chasing this one).
 All of
these cards are just in file boxes and not in any order other than
 DX and
 State side.
So, can it be done that way? If not, how about in the next version.
 What
do the rest of you think? Sounds like a good plan to me.

If in entering the data, when it said do you want to submit this card and
you put those in a separate box, then the submission will match your box.
Save a copy of this log and your .cty file so you can back up to this point
if you need to do so. If you did not separate them, then just clean ALL
submission flags, and when you do a DXCC submission, being sure you have all
the boxes checked correctly in the DXCC preferences. It will take the LAST
received (not the first) for each country for submission. If you have
previously submitted cards to DXCC, then you will have to do a manual entry
for CHECKED for each one. Only once does this happen.
