[Dx4win] SWL QSOs?

2021-04-09 Thread Jay Chamberlain
Curious how everyone handles an incoming SWL card or eQSL?
I recently added a DX SWL QSO confirmed by a QSL card by leaving the RSTs
and RSTr blank and in the QSO notes SWL with "W9xxx". This way I can send
out my QSL card and keep the record in DX4WIN.

Re: [Dx4win] Swl input

2019-02-08 Thread Bud Semon
Hi John,

I'm interested in how you are trying to do this. When I verify a SWL QSL,
I do the following.

F8, then enter the callsign that the SWL QSL is for. Make sure the log is
showing the QSO that you are interested in (in case you have multiple QSOs
with the same station)

In the log entry window, I select QSO, then Confirm SWL. This opens a
window where you can enter the callsign of the SWL and it will accept
OK1-33856. That will update your log so that when you go to QSLs, Print
SWL Labels, it will print a label for that SWL.

Are you doing something different?

And by the way, in File, Preferences, on the Rep/Lab tab, in the Labels,
Greeting box, the 3rd line will print a SWL-specific line on the bottom of
the label.

Thanks and 73, Bud N7CW

2017-07-30 Thread Art - W6KY via DX4WIN
Mike W0VTT had the answer.
To enter a SWL QSL, go to the reported QSO.
ctl/F2 brings up a window to enter the SWL call
and also creates a label to print later.

I had forgot the ctl/F2 part...

Tnx Mike and everyone who responded.

If I add the same SWL report without clearing SWL labels I get the message

result is the same : none report is saved and no label is printed.
Any idea ?

[Dx4win] SWL labels seems not working in 8.01

2009-08-11 Thread Alain, F 5 L I W
Hi to all,
I want to add a SWL report (Ctrl + F2) and print a label but not report is
saved and, of course, not label is printed.
I clear all SWL labels and try again : same result.
If I add the same SWL report without clearing SWL labels I get the message An
SWL exists already do you ant to remove it?. If I answer YES on NO the result
is the same : none report is saved and no label is printed.
Any idea ?

[Dx4win] SWL labels lost and save log in 707 directory

2009-08-09 Thread Kostas Stamatis
I had ready for printing some swl lables in my previous log (707). There are
not in current log (801).
I followed the procedure for upgrading.
I copied my 707 file from 707 to 801
merged my preferences.
I have not done any conversion for name, freq in my new log.
Something i noticed and it happened to me twice is that even i copied my
file for 707 directory to 801, the logfile in 707 was updated. I was sure
that 801 read the 801 copied file when i first opened the 801. It happened
in my laptop first and i double checked my movements and was very careful in
my shack pc the second time. But it happened agn. Maybe an operator mistake.
Maybe a strange bug. It has not logic to me but it happened agn. After all I
made a save us in the new version and no problem then. I had my log backuped
so no problem for me. I can't believe what happened to me twice. Maybe a
double mistake but for another time backup your file before updating.

Re: [Dx4win] SWL labels lost and save log in 707 directory

2009-08-09 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
Read the upgrade instructions I wrote:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/upgrade.htm

where I wrote, Here are my personal notes on upgrading. I will state
one very important thing up-front.

When you merge your preferences, one of those preferences is the log
file to open. If you copy your log to the new SAVE directory, you must
navigate to teh new SAVE directory and open that one. Don't just accept
whatever log that DX4WIN opens the first time after merging preferences.

Re: [Dx4win] SWL labels lost and save log in 707 directory

2009-08-09 Thread Mel
I have made this mistake in the past... and I should know better.

For this reason... I never work with my original set of files... only a
copy. As Jim alluded to in an earlier post... the problem is the Windows
Common Dialog Control doesn't display the path to the directory. It's
not just with DX4Win I have had this problem...

[Dx4win] SWL Labels

2004-07-22 Thread George
I certainly do use the SWL facility and it works fine for me and always has
in all versions I have used.
I even print them directly to my cards.
Most of the folks I know here also use the SWL facility there is nothing
wrong with it.

I'm getting the impression that no one uses DX4WIN
to generate SWL labels. Since it doesn't seem to work,
maybe that should be dropped in future releases.

Is everyone doing these by hand?

Hi all
This is my second attempt to find help here. I am running 6.03 and cannot
preview nor print labels. I get an error message. I did not have this problem
with the earlier version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Dx4win] SWL Labels

2004-07-22 Thread Francisco Costa
Hi Byron et all

I use it too. Works fine on 5.02
The only thing I miss is not printing the WKD station.
Maybe it was already implemented on recent versions,
but I don't remember to read anything about it.

[Dx4win] SWL Labels

2004-07-22 Thread ARS NZ3O (Byron) FM29fx
I received several responses to my note regarding
the use of the Print SWL Labels capability in DX4WIN.

Some instructed me on how to use it. Thanks, but I didn't
find anything wrong with what I was doing. But I really do
appreciate the effort to help.

Others asked what I was trying to accomplish.

Let me describe again what is happening:

I have never operated RTTY. And when I attempt
to Print SWL Labels about two dozen labels show
up in Preview, but randomly they have their MODE
set to RTTY. When I check the logbook for that date
and time (no callsign shown other than the SWL) there
are QSO's but the mode isn't RTTY.

So, I'm trying to locate the SWL entries so I can correct
the MODE and print the labels. Oh, and make sure everything
else on the label is correct.

[Dx4win] SWL Labels

2004-07-22 Thread Joe
Might the mode in your log/actually worked be PSK31, MFSK or some other
digital mode that the ARRL counts as RTTY? That would surely explain
it. If you upload your log to LOTW, those digital QSOs are counted as RTTY
for DXCC credit.

[Dx4win] SWL Reports

[Dx4win] SWL labels problem

2003-08-05 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Tonno Vahk)
I have run into another problem with label printing. I have marked 309 SWL
labels for printing. Abt 1/3 of them is with my old call - ES5RTV.

I seem to find no way of differentiating between the two calls when
printing. The SWL labels are not affected by the Selection or the Filter or
import/export or anything. Whatever I do it still shows me 309 labels. So I
have no way of knowing which are with which calls and I can not set the
signature text in Preferences - Lab for the right call.

Anybody can recommend a solution or a way how to process those labels?

Shouldn't SWL labels also show the station I worked?

[Dx4win] SWL labels

2002-02-09 Thread K2DBK - David
Ok Paul, thanks. I guess that makes sense. I didn't know what the SWL
rules for QSL'ing were, I wanted to make sure that I didn't short-change
the guy that I was sending the card to.

At 05:24 PM 2/9/2002, Paul van der Eijk wrote:
Depends who you ask, but I came to the conclusion that the SWL
wants confirmation from you, not who you worked. The station(s)
worked information helps to locate a QSO that you can use to supply
the necessary info for the SWL, but the callsign does not need to be
printed on the SWL label..

[Dx4win] SWL labels

2002-01-29 Thread K2DBK - David
I got a couple of SWL cards via the buro recently. I marked a QSO for SWL
confirmation (via control-F2) and entered the SWL number. When I print
(preview, actually) the label, I don't see the Callsign listed on the
label. On the label, I see SWL: NL 12345 R89 (the SWL number that I
entered), and then the regular contact information, but the call of the
other station in the QSO (i.e., the one that I worked) isn't shown anywhere
on the label.

My two questions are: A) Should the other station's callsign be on the
label, and B) if so, how do I get it there (other than resorting to using a
pen!)

Thanks

David - K2DBK
