Bob, you are correct concerning the dropdown list
This list want change but try the following and you will see the difference
Unmark 160M and 60M , save restart etc
Now type a new a qso in and type 1 in Band
Normally you would see 160M for the 1st band but it will be 17M that is on
the 1st place

Go in File| Preferences | Station
Select the bands and modes you need (unmark all others)
Save changes and exit
You can also do the same in reports for whatever you want
