I believe there is a small bug in this area but have not been able to
isolate it. Occasionally, even after hitting escape, the log window will
not re-populate. If that happens, close the logbook window and re-open it

I've seen that too, and a few other strange things can happen when doing
multiple searches such as QSLing. I use Dave's work-around or if it
really does something strange, I restart DX4Win just to be sure. I'd
hate to save my log with some random filter active.

Re: [Dx4win] Log Window

2012-01-27 Thread N7KA
No need to close log.  Just QSO/Add Real-Time will clear search and repopulate
log window.  Yeah the last call searched will be hilited on the log window so
just scroll to end of log.  Works for me every time.  Actually no need to
scroll to the  end of log as the next QSO added will set log window to last QSO
entered.

Filters do not affect how the log is saved. All the QSOs in the .DXL

the time.

Nope. That doesn't do it. This problem has been

release, but that was a long time ago and the problem is still around.

I had the same problem. However I was able to go around it using the
LogBook Report Editor Note Width box. Tuning the Report width there
makes the LogBook window reappear exactly as it was set. Vertically it
seems to work by dragging with the mouse.

Hope this helps,

For a long time I've been asked to get my logs onto Lotw.

So now I have begun processhere is where I am at.

My log consists of QSO's from 5 calls I have held over 30 years.
QSO's from 3 of these calls I will import to Lotw.

Here is where I'm stuck. All QSO's have been logged as group #0 (Default
I guess) If I do a search in a given DATE range I can pull out the QSOs
from each CALL. But if I'm seeing this right I need to EDIT the GROUP
NAME from #0 to say a call sign?

On my LOG Window/Filter tabThe Selection and Edit Group Names
functions are GRAYED out..can not be chosen.

How do I search then mark the given QSO's for each of the 3 calls I want
to upload to Lotw? Independently of one another?

Re: [Dx4win] LOG Window/Selection and Edit Group names

2008-07-30 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
Hi Kirk,

First, make sure you are in Expert mode (first tab of Preferences).

Second, you do NOT need to EDIT the GROUP NAME from #0 to say a call sign.

If the calls you used can be separated by DATE, then go to Filter - Selection
and set up DATE filters for each call you used (starting and ending date).
When you use that filter selection, only QSOs within those dates (i.e. with the
call you used) are active. So you can export these QSOs to an ADIF file,
then sign and upload to LoTW.

You will also need to request separate LoTW certificates for each call (using
TQSLcert). You can use one of your existing certificates to sign the requests.
That will speed up the process of getting the new certs. from ARRL.
