What antenna are you using?
I'm using a Spiro sloper model VS-64.
Height is about 35' sloping to ground and using an 8' ground rod.
Gets me on 160 and the at on the K2 tunes the rest of the bands pretty well.

Has anyone located the QST article yet. I thumbed through all of the 2005

I'm happy to report that I worked one PB while I was still at home
before packing up the station to go to Pulpit Rock. I worked Ken,
WA8REI who was out snowmobiling (or as we say in Michigan,
"sledding"). Glad to have worked Ken, who I worked at least once from
Pulpit Rock in the past.

An eventful week has passed for me. I feel run hard and put away wet.
But my older sister is up here "squaring me away" as dad would say ;)

All,
Thanks for the input. By following the instructions from the inputs I
received, I was able to calibrate K2. I'm all set. Thanks for the help.

Hi Michael,
ALT mode doesn't prune the search tree as aggressively as does AUTO
mode. (The tree-pruning algorithm is based on SWR trend around local
minima.) This makes it more likely to find the optimal LC values with
high-Q antennas that produce a sharp SWR dip as you approach resonance.

Hi
Just to get my curiosity under control. Do any of you now the main
difference in the procedure taking place when tuning in Auto mode and in ALT
mode. ALT cover more combinations, maybe ALT cover all of them ?
If so how are the combinations selected that Auto try, by a cleaver
algorithm
Oooops, meant this reply to go here, but sent it to QRP-L instead :^))

Thanks to all for both the posted and direct responses. I have the open

will have to do some checking to see if its capacity is still up there.

Has anyone used the "un-module" rework eliminators available from Ken and

I'm about to order my K2 kit and am considering going this route, but would
like to hear from those who have used them. The price is certainly very
reasonable, so no problem there. I'

There was an article in one of this year's QSTs describing how to make
tweezers out of copperclad board with leads to your tester for testing caps
and resistors. Looked like about $.25 worth of materials.

Hello all,
Well, I'm packing my backpack for the hike up the mountain to Pulpit
