Some weeks we searched for the reason of bad K3's sound and high level IMD.
We tried to replace resistors on the line-out board. But it is
ineffectual.
Fortunately, Vlad UN7GZ has found out the problem.
Vlad has analysed the K3-scheme and has found some discrepancy on the

very subjective and varies so much with individuals.
I rememeber when color PC monitors became available. It opened a whole
new era of trying to please everybody with a color scheme for
programs. There was no one color

An odd effect with the output power: it builds up from 5W to the
dialled in power over the course of about 5 QSOs after I change
bands. If I stay in a band and increase the power from, say, 50 to 70

The LINE IN has a hardware attenuator so that soundcard outputs won't be
set to very low levels. This is to help protect against noise pickup on
LINE IN.
If the DXP-38 can't drive the K3 LINE INPUT, then you either need to
boost the signal or use a mic input with proper precautions for ground

The levels of signals reported are not audible at greater than 50-60 dB

are -78 dB at 10.4 kHz and another at -77 dB at 12.6 kHz. The

Good point Don. Similarly, I noticed in the original post that, while the
noise floor in the fixed case was flatter, it was also 10dB higher than
the non-modified version, apparently masking the issue, not fixing it.

The issue is not aesthetics, but rather utility. Something like 9% of
American males are red-green color blind (by far the most common type of
color blindness). There are certain colors, and certain combinations of
colors, that are very difficult for them to discern. It makes sense for
LP-Bridge should be just as fast, and supports more functions in PowerSDR
than does HRD, including automatic IF offset tracking of 5-pole filters and
DSP shift. You may have had a config issue, an early version or an LP-Bridge
/ K3 firmware version mismatch.
