16ft XLR 3 pin cable when I A/B tested against my Gold Line Heil the
only difference was the price my advice is use the EQ save you money do
not purchase the Heil.

I use my w2ihy box for two reasons
1) I think the noise gate is better than the K3's built in gate.
2) Because I already had it I can have two radios connected to my ATR 30
I find no reason to ever purchase another Heil
I have my menu setting for both internal speaker and headphones, I have
a small wire stereo plug
with a right angle plugged in all the time the small stereo wire lead
goes back under the radio
and connects to a cable that comes out under the operating table where I
remove and
plug in my head
I have a similar issue with my K3 VL-1000 combination the amp would key
up full power then fold back slowly until it was running about 1/2 output.
No amount of reducing the mic or power settings changed this behavior
