My personal favorite added after initial purchase was/is the KDVR3 Digital
Voice Keyer. It's the cat's meow if you are a phone contester. Messages
can be activated by macros from your logging software and the best part is
you eliminate the audio
I just left the Elecraft booth an hour or so ago and the K-Line (LOVE that
name) did look great with the K3-P3-KPA500 combination bolted side-by-side.

on the Elecraft website. I finally searched the site (using the built-in
search function at the bottom left corner of the home page) for beta and
YMMV, but my Keyspan brand (Model USA-19HS) USB-Serial adapter handles the
firmware downloads just fine.

I've been there and done that, Larry. It happened when I tried to help someone
set up in one of the digital modes during Field Day. We were using the speaker
on the radio and the built-in microphone on the laptop computer we were using
was feeding the audio to the decoder program in HRD!
VE3KI's explanation is absolutely correct, but I would add a CAUTION that once
you have this arrangement set up, be careful to boot your computer and N1MM
BEFORE turning on your K3 or at least before enabling transmit. This is
because some of the start-up processes seem to key the radio when

Someone asked about adapter for BM-10. Save your money! You don't need an
adapter if you plug into the rear panel. The mono plug goes in the MIC MONO
