Redirecting this back to the list.
Can you observe the output of the power supply when you turn on the K3?
You need to be able to test it under load to see if it's shutting down.
I realize that you weren't drawing much of a load at QRP but I'd want to
be 100% sure about my power supply since

Yes, you still need a custom cable whether you're using a regular serial
port on the PC or using a USB to serial adapter.

Double check your power supply connections. I wouldn't trust any display
readings without first making sure the unit was first getting good voltage.

I also wound one of these ununs according to their directions. The
drawback to this antenna is that it uses the shield of the feedline as
the counterpoise. If you try ferrite beads, or even winding an air
choke, I would think they'd need to be closer to the rig than to the unun.

There are various discussions both on and off this list about how to set
up the K3 with the Signalink USB when using WSPR, but I ran into a
problem with the K3 staying in XMIT after sending was complete.
Solutions were available online, just none that solved my issue. These

I bought a used K2 and it was damaged during shipment. The UPS place
that packed it wrapped it in plastic and set it on the bottom of a box
with no padding around the bottom or sides so that the VFO knob was
against the side of the box along a bottom edge. The only padding was on
top. The VFO
is #5711.

At the Elecraft booth at Radiofest this past weekend in Monterey I was
given an estimated release of late summer for the amp. Saw a Powerpoint
slide of the amp, looks kinda like a finned stereo amplifier you might
find in a car stereo. I'd guess something the size of a brick with fins
on top,
I contacted W6AWO, he said his auction closed yesterday. This isn't his

Don't use the accessory battery box, not needed. Set bias on in the K3
