I built and operated an Elecraft K1 in 2001, a K2 in 2004 and a k3 in 2007. I
have not had any problems with any of them. The K1 doesn't get used much any
more but the K2 I use occasionally because it is a really fun radio

My PC has only one video out and it is VGA. Studying the pictures of DVI
connectors, the DVI input on my monitor is DVI-D so it will not accept DVI
analog.
I could add a video card with DVI output to my PC. However, searching the

My one monitor has 2 inputs, one is the standard VGA and the other is a DVI-D
(3 rows of 8 pins and 1 flat pin). So if I had a card with a DVI-D out I should
be able to connect the PC to the monitor. I googled DVI-D. One of the hits
was Amazon and it showed many cards but they only described

And a couple of times I got back to where it was tuning normally, but as soon
as I turned on the sub-receiver and tried to transmit, I would get the HIGH SWR
message and after that if I did a tune it would not go

I agree the antenna should be the first place and in fact I did look at it
hanging in the air but I have not lowered it to give it a closer inspection.

Remember the thread on RS Hughes as a source for Multicore solder. I
ordered 2 rolls off their web site last September 30th. They arrived
today. No communications in the interim. They just showed up. Guess I'll

My ham shack is in a room which is separated from the main house.
Consequently, it does not receive heat from the main house and during
this cold weather is only heated when I am in the room and even then I

I need help with this one. During the entire construction process
everything went fine until the very last step; I wired up the internal
speaker, powered on and the audio sounded horrible. Very raspy with cw
signals having a hollow, high pitched ring to them.

I'm at the alignment part III for my K2 #4155. The first step, on 40
mtrs setting Power control for 2 watts and adjusting L1 and L2 for
maximum power out in Tune mode gives me 3 watts. When I change Power
setting first to 5 watts then to 10 watts in Tune mode I get about 6+
and 12+
Successfully completed: Alignment and Test, Part II. All within spec.
What fun, watching everything come up with the right numbers.
