Hi there!
I assembled my KXPA100 (with ATU) recently, serial number 0595.
Unfortunately, it isn't working. The link to the KX3 works great
(rather slick, everything was instantly recognized), but the KXPA100 is
not making any antenna connection cleanly. KX3 is properly configured
to link with

Has anyone found a wall wart they like for the KX3? Like most hams, I
have a big box of wall warts, and have tried several different 12 V
adaptors with the KX3. They all worked ok for general operation, but I
noted that when I added the KXBC3 battery

I looked at my KX3 this morning and the mere though of seeing it being used

talkie style CB radios if you want the portability, I had one before
becoming a ham.

I noticed this myself in the menus. Thanks for the tip! Works great as
PTT in voice modes.
However, this doesn't work for CW. If I use the key in CW mode,
Hi there!
A minor request: I would love it if the CW sidetone pitch could have
finer gradations. Currently, it is tunable only in increments of 10 Hz,
from 400 Hz to 700 Hz. Would it be possible to have it tune in
increments of 1 Hz? Reason is, the pitches sound off key to me, as if
it's being
Thank you very much! I also like the idea of having another different choice
for the key, to have it send CW while still in SSB mode, as others have
mentioned.

You can plug your key directly into the ACC2 jack if it has a 2.5-mm
stereo plug. If not, you'll need an adapter like the one supplied as
part of our KX3
I picked up a straight key at a flea market, and it works great for CW
with the KX3. Set the CW KEY1 and CW KEY2 menu items to HAND, and
it worked the first time! Very responsive, I'm impressed.
However, I was disappointed that it did not work for voice. I keyed
down, and nothing happened.
Hi there. Any particular model of headset, to recommend for use with
the KX3?
Right now, I'm using a Plantronics .Audio 500 headset, which is nice
because it has stereo RX (good for the KX3's audio effects) and it has
convenient small analog connectors (perfectly compatible with the KX3).

I recommend that all users do the refinement.
With the new per-band alignment settings introduced in the latest firmware,
this is probably not a bad idea.
Wow, per-band

Hi there.
I'm really liking the ATU in my KX3: it is able to solve all the bands
on my antenna (a G5RV) to a perfect 1.0-1 match, with the exception of
160 meters. It can only get that down to 7.5-1 (or so).
I'm curious as to what the maximum SWR is, that I can safely transmit

I got a lucky find: searched some old laptop computer power supplies in the
bins at Halted Electronics, a surplus store, and found a 15V power supply that
was a good match. Anything from 12V to 15V should work. It is very small and
fits in well with the KX3.

Hi there. Also wanted to introduce myself. I successfully assembled
the Elecraft KX3, and it works! It's s/n 1254.
It's the first kit radio that I've assembled. It was really easy, since
no soldering is involved, just assembly of completed parts. I ordered
the kit not only to save $100, but
Hi! In menu, set MIC BTN to OFF. Otherwise, default will be PTT which you
don't want for computer use.
