Those K3's on Ducie sure sound good...they have very nice keying
characteristics and are
obviously not having any problems vacuuming up signals either. Great stuff!
The K3

I began wondering what the Aptos Wonders would have engineered with Heath era
technology...
Probably the HW-101.
More than anything else, Elecraft understands the marketplace, and is very
adept at meeting
its needs. Heath did too, which is why they sold so many tens of thousands of
pieces
Looking to purchase used KRC2 Band Decoder if anyone has one excess. Many thanks

Incidentally, we can't carry guns either.

Its perfectly understandable to have a bubble of postings when a manufacturer

I opened the top lid, to add filters - and was
amazed to see the technology they are pouring
into these rigs. Must be hundreds of SMT's and
lentil-sized micro variable C's - just packing
the 1 or 2 upper boards in 706. As a builder of
many kits - have to say, in 2006 - I'm amazed
at what they
I'll second the suggestion of the AADE meter. Though many LCR meters claim
this function, they
don't typically have the resolution needed for small toroids, inductors, or
caps like the AADE
meter does (and as are used in many applications)

Hi Bill,
I just went though this last week with my K2/100 driving a SB200. I was able
to minimize this
(but not eliminate it) by increasing R99 (on BOTTOM of main board...I spent
about a half hour
looking for it on the top!) .

My K2/100 works great and it's a great DX machine. One thing I've noticed
however, is that
the recovered audio is different on different bands. On certain bands ( higher
than 20M?) I
need to have the AF gain waaay up to hear anything comfortably. Other bands
(like 20m) will
just about blow me

The RS50M seems like a nice supply. I'm planning on purchasing one as well.
I've been using
several linear supplies used for Drake TR7s as a stiff station 12V supply. They
too work well,
but I want to get some of the TR7s back on the air again, and need the
supplies. I'm not sure

The recent thread on missing parts brings up an area for imrprovement

I would suspect that the vast majority of missing parts, are in reality

Wow!
With all due respect, it sounds like it's a good time to take a walk around the
block.
If one is in the business of building boards commercially, a fillet is
expected as a sign of an acceptable joint.
Does it matter? I don't know, but I suspect if it didn't, then most
of industry wouldn't care about it as much as they do.

I'm using a SLA150 on my K2 and it works fine. I get about
120-130 watts out on most bands. The auto - band detect

I'm sure the KPA100 is fine too, but the SLA is a workable alternative
