[Elecraft] Recommendations for VFO Range on K-1

I would appreciate peoples' thoughts, suggestions, experiences setting the VFO range at 80KHz vs. 150KHz on a K-1. I've got a dual-bander running 40 meters and 20 meters. I'm a general class. Normal range for a general on 40 meters is 7,025Khz - 7.125KHz (100KHz spread) and on 20 meters is

I would go for the 80 KHz Jon. I used the 80 KHz cap in mine and the range ended up to be about 100 KHz. I wouldn't want the tuning to be any faster, and it has worked out fine. Mine is set up for 40, 30, 20, 15. 73 ... Craig AC0DS

Jon: I used my K1 using 80 KHz for a few years and then wanted to work higher in the bands so I changed it to 150 KHz. I enjoyed a few QSOs between 7100 and 7145 KHz. After a few weeks I went back to 80 KHz. It just tunes too fast. Most of my QSOs were made between 7025 and 7065 on 40M 30M is a
