Folks,
$90 shipped CONUS--includes camera complete with all the manuals and
cables; Canon DK110 power supply/batt-charger; a new battery; and 2
compact flash cards one 8Mb the other 64 Mb. Everything is in near new
condition.
This is a great camera for the many TTF events coming up. The S10
I have a KIO2 serial port for the Elecraft K2 transceiver for sale. This
one has not been hooked up to a computer so I really can't verify if it
works. All of the voltages and checks are correct by the instruction
manual. I have no reason to believe that anything is wrong with it. My
Hi Craig,
The problem with ear buds is that they do not fit my ears. I have tried
many of them. They hurt terribly. Also I have to press them forcibly
against my head to get the best around. That's why I will try the Koss
type that have the narrow sound pipe and the compressible foam around
I am finishing a KX1 and have a question. When tuning the radio, there is a
LOT of DDS hash when turning the tuning knob. I am just finished with the 20
meter and 40 meter testing. Will this always be there? Is there a way to
reduce this?

I'm building my K2, #4759, in page 53.
The fifth step in page is:
Install the BFO crystals X3 and X4 (near J7). Important: trim X3's
leads, and fold them down flat against their pads, before soldering.
Then use a minimal amount of solder. This is necessary to avoid
interference between X3
Yves,
That is UNBELIEVABLE !
Did the parcel go through Canada Customs, or somehow get bypassed?
Everytime I order anything it takes 14 to 20 days to arrive, even small
envelopes of parts.
Did you use US Mail Service?

Hi All
I was measuring the gain difference of the OP1 x-tal filter and the
CW filter on my K2.
It seems that the OP1 filter has +10dB more gain than the CW filter
I have the 2.5kHz OP1 filter mod and the stock CW filter on 2.4kHz.
Measurements are done on 7 MHz band on LSB.
I did the
The KIO2 has been spoken for.

Just a quick note to acknowledge all who checked in last evening. This was our
second week operating at 0100z - but with daylight savings time, it looks like
quite a few more folks from the west coast checked in.

Marteinn,
The CW filter has a greater signal loss than the OP1 filter mainly because of
it's varicap variable bandwidth design. My K2 has about a 6dB loss relative to
the OP1. Your CW filter loss of 10dB may be a bit high. I would check the
varicap lead orientation.

K6DGW's KX1 S/N is #897. I guess it got lost in transmission. I was
surprised at the signal strengths out here on the frontier ... NK8Q was
easily a real 569 as was Daniel. 0100Z works pretty good for us PDT
types unless we have family or friends over for dinner.

Thanks for running the net. My first ECN/30 check-in. Was glad to hear Steve,

well, the ripple on the CW filter at 2kHz BW is abt 8db p-p.
the gain difference when the CW filter is offset to 1.2kHz
(for digital modes) and its BW is 1kHz is abt -3dB relative to
the OP1 filter (not bad?).

Thanks to all who replied regarding using OSHA ear plugs on ear buds to

Hi all,
Well spring is in the air and old man's fancy turns to antennas.
I have a K2 (s/n 1103) without the 100 watt amp and with the internal low
power ATU. Unless procrastination gets the best of me again, I'd like to string
up a new wire antenna this spring.
I have a chunk of 400

I checked T7, it is OK, so are the varcaps. My K2 seems OK
I fiddled with the CW filter settings, changed the BW and it does indeed
show the expected behavior, to much bandwidth 1kHz, to little bandwidth
200 Hz did show lower filter gain, so I just selected BWs which

I have found that some ear buds fit better if you switch them to the other
ear, or turn them slightly so that the wire exits at an angle to the rear of
the head.
Maybe you can find a more comfortable position that way.
