Martin, On paper it would not be too difficult to build an IF crystal ladder filter for the K2 whose stopband attenuation is an honest 100db or better, with a passband ripple of something less than 0.5db - probably less than 0.25db. But the filter would require good quality high Q crystals,

Sam, That is normal. The power control ALC is not active during TUNE in order to allow you to tune a manual antenna transmatch without causing the power to fluctuate wildly with changes in the load impedance as you tune. If you check the keydown level you will see more consistent power levels.

Glenn, I would suggest wiring the mic configuration header straight across for all pins to be used - use the little computer type jumpers. Wire the mic plug with your PTT switch between pin 2 and ground (use pin 7) - AF to pin 1 and AF Return to pin 7. If the RS mic is an dynamic type, that is

I just noticed that when I am on 40 meters and I am on the 100watt output, I cant transmit. I think something is resetting the MCU because I see elecraft flash. It works up to 10 watts without any problems on 40, but as soon as I go above that acts up. All other bands work fine on the 100 watt

Ron, This was into a dummy load. I had it into the KAT100 which was disabled and unplugged. So only the feedline was left connected though the ATU. Once I removed the KAT100 it worked. With the AT removed I did check power output into a dummy load and got the following 160- 131 watts 75-

John, I've seen those symptoms when the XV power out was adjusted to 20 watts at the high end of the band. The K2 28MHz band has a bandwidth of 800KHz. If the XV 20 watt power is adjusted at a frequency much over that 800KHz bandwidth, the K2 isn't really putting out the full 1mw so the XVpower

Well as it turns out, my current draw is high. About 2.48 according to the K2 display. This was at around 8 watts (2:00 position) on the band I checked. But all bands appear to be around that 2.45-2.5 range. I checked the finals to make sure there is no short to ground and they did not.
