So the problem is clearly in the transvertor.Given the fact that both rx and tx follow roughly the same pattern a common cause seems to be logical.That could be voltage or oscillator.Check if the voltage remains constant on both rx and tx circuits. Also check the oscillator signal and level

Not that I know of. But the knobs have only a minor draft, so custom bands should work fine. I'd avoid anything very thick as that could impact usability of nearby controls. Same applies to the K4's VFO B and OFS knobs, which are the about the same size as the K3's VFO B knob. 73, Wayne N6KR
