RE: [Elecraft] field operating tip: paperless logging in a pinch

2004-06-13 Thread Jerry
Wayne, That was a great Idea. I have operated mobile for years and am very bad about logging. I do know that a lot of folks use a cell phone that has messaging to record or log important contacts. I don't own a cell phone but wanted to share the information. 73's Jerry KC4YDP K24U Software

[Elecraft] recording QSO information

2004-06-13 Thread Steve Jackson
Wayne mentioned a very clever way of storing some QSO information for logging purposes. I use a small, cheap digital voice memo recorder. I think I got it at a hamfest for $4 ... one of the old ones, but quite suitable to store a few QSOs worth of information. It gets velcroed (that is a word?)

[Elecraft] More QSO Recording

2004-06-13 Thread Jeff Davis
All good ideas! Perhaps one day, there will be a small slot in the side of the KX** for a flash memory disk where entire QSOs can be recorded to MP3 for later playback? :-) 73, -- Jeff, KE9V ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to:

I have recently switched from Netscape to Outlook mail. The digest from this list arrives as a small text file with numerous attachments: one for the contents and one for each posting. I have to click on each attachment item listed in the message header in order to read it. The names/numbers

[Elecraft] 04288 is in life

2004-06-13 Thread ta2ah
After 13 days (3-4 hours/day, weekends more) of intensive work K2-04288 is in life know. I did not do the final alignments yet, but it is working. It was a great experience for me. I would like to thanks to Wayne, Lisa and especially to Gary for their supports and their times which they spend

[Elecraft] Virus

2004-06-13 Thread Ron Polityka
Hello to all on the list. I am very sorry if I passed any virus or Trojan along to the list. Some how I picked up a virus and it disabled my Anti-virus program. I have a DSL service so I had to unplug the cable to the computer to stop the barrage of e-mails it was sending out. Sorry for any

[Elecraft] KX1#277 - zero power on XMIT/Tune

2004-06-13 Thread Trent - N7GMT
Finished up KX1 #277 yesterday (YAY!) just as soon as the mailman delivered the two missing .01uF caps (Thanks, Scott, for the prompt mailing!), and started into the final alignment and testing ... when I hit a snag: Zero output into the 50-ohm dummy load. So, I break out the trouble-shooting

[Elecraft] Elecraft Net Report for June 14, 2004

2004-06-13 Thread Kevin Rock
Howdy Folks, Another scratchy, noisy night on 40 meters. But we had some fun. Unfortunately my K2/100 decided it was time for a break and would not stay running on 40 meters. I employed my lesser transceiver and muddled through. Who ever would have thought they would use mechanical
