Easy solution. Set the filter to look for [Elecraft] in the Subject or Header
(that is, include the brackets). My email software has been set that way
for as long as

Hi Geoff:
PLEASE FEEL FREE to join us ANY TIME you can hear us. I was quite

Thats easy Jim, its in Slobodian and means a dipole.
Or you can make up your own definition. The last three could be Horizontal

Likewise the sentiments on strange abreviations.

I was going for End Fed Half Wave A...
But then I got stuck! Aerial maybe?

Hi,
I get elecraft-bounces... in the From in all my Elecraft
email. My subscription gets disabled for excessive bounces. I asked our
sysadmin and he says there is nothing he can do. We changed our exchange
server when we were acquired by a larger company, and that's when the

Hi Elecrafters,
will there be a KRC2 configuration utility in the near future? I would
really like to configure the thing via software. I often change antenna
configuration in my fieldday setups, but would like to use ONE pre-
assembled control-line with water-proof/assembled connectors, etc.
Howdy Geoff,
You may have better luck checking in with these folks:

Hi gang!
This is just to say that the Eurasian ECN is still alive. Unfortunately I

I noticed a couple of nights ago that the computer interface cable to
the KPA100 was causing so much noise that I couldn't hear YV0D. Well, he
couldn't hear me so it's a moot point, but I'm using a Keyspan USB to
serial adapter. Anyone know of any quieter adapters or filtering advice?

Me too sometimes ;-)
EFHWA - End Fed Half Wave Antenna - Some examples found on the web:

A commercial version, very nicely made, in my opinion, is made by Par
Electronics and sold by Universal Radio.
It's got a sealed coupling network with a SO239 and the actual antenna
wire is replaceable.

At least it's not another TLA (Three-letter Acronym) :-)
I work in aerospace, a field rife with with TLA's.

That's embarrassing. I was looking for a word that started with A, and
meant Antenna, and Aerial was the best word I could find. I don't feel old,
I'm only 50, but things are slipping.

Thanks Guido... yes, I would like to see the schematic if you would
like to post it. Very nice work! From your photos, it looks like you
have a fun group of Elecraft owners there!

You just described the antenna I take camping with me and my K2. I have

I don't know why the ratio was changed in the first place, but I really
don't think it will make much difference in the signal level. You can try
re-winding it and see what happens. The biggest difference should be in the
termination impedance of the filter.
