Check the CAL TPA temperature setting in your MENU, Stephen. It's been a while and I've forgotten the exact cause, but a number of ops discovered that the temperature setting was suddenly way off, causing the fan to run constantly. Somehow the initial setting got over-written. Ron AC7AC

Donm I downloaded a patch to my system from Red Hat and have never had a problem with unsolicited Windows sounds since...or any unsolicited sounds for that matter ;-) It works great with my PSK-20 which has built-in vox. ...but an off/on switch on the vox interface is also a good idea.
