Just to let you know that I was your 'mystery caller' on the 14051kHz net
this week.
I copied you at rst 439 from 1055utc right upto the bitter end.
The only others copied here were
Tom, N0SS, who's sigs ranged from 339 to 559 and
Bill, K1EV, who went from 449 to unreadable.

What frequency does the KX1 go to on power-up? I can't figure out how
it picks it--not the last freq on which I TX, not one of the memories,
not the last one I tuned on. Maybe this is in the manual, but I didn't
see it.

I can comment on the use on WinLink for use by maritime motile stations,
which is a different use from what you are considering, ie, EMComm
use. Most of the WinLink operation heretofore has been by maritime mobile
stations.

again with my fourth K2 which passed the final test
yesterday.
Well the speaker needs to be fixed to the top cover and
there are some options (K160RX, KAF2, KNB2, KAT2, KSB2) to
be added but I don't expect any difficulties to occur.

Here's a good one...
While testing the latest version of my Anti-VOX board I got reports saying that
my SSB signal was clickyon VOX. I thought the worst...
After much investigation it turned out to be nothing to do with my board, or

Has anyone ever checked and graphed the cold start to warm-up drift of their
K1 over say a 6 hour period? Im just wondering what other K1 owners have
experienced.

I would suggest that you review the A to B mod on the Elecraft website
www.elecraft.com (Builders Resource area) before doing anything. Download
the A to B instruction manual and make a decision of which 'optional' mods
