Steve,
A very useful tip.
I purchased a small reel of tinned copper wire about 22SWG (don't know the AWG)
and use that when bridging across cut tracks etc.

Roy,
The thermal pads are probably fine. On my KPA100 I found the same, after having
ordered a new set of pads. I would keep them as spares.
The 1k resistor across RFC3 is to reduce an 80m resonance in the KPA100 T/R
switch circuit. It should be OK mounted on either side of the PCB, provided

Jean-Francois,
You certainly could do that - it should not alter any other function that I
am aware of. The current display can be trimmed by changing Control Board
R7.
R10 and R7 are 1% resistors, and that provides repeaability from one K2 to
another - one could hand-pick from 5% resistors
Thanks, I will try and let you know my result !!!

Folks,
After thinking about this voltmeter 'adjustment' a bit more, I discovered I
had erred. The value of R10 should be INCREASED to make the reading higher.
Sorry - I guess I had a 'senior moment' and got my head turned around wrong.

Jean-Francois,
Hi,
pushed it up to about 11m. The mast itself is the heavy version of
the aluminum 10m mast (FGRM 70 1,95/10/6) with one extra pipe to go

to 12m. They called it a FGRM 70 1,95/12/7. The transport length is

I just realized that heavy version might be misunderstood: I do not

I'm planning to use a little higher value trimmer, so I would be
able to be more or less in a second. I let you know wich one I use...
I would like the really smaller one (in size) that it can take not
much space as the actual resistor.

The DSPx module used in the KDSP2 accessory may use the ADSP-2184N or

You are exactly right - it will read a bit high for all voltages. I don't
believe that would be a problem for most folks since they seldom use the

Has anyone had a problem with their K2 speaker? Mine sounds like something is
loose whenever I listen to cw at around 60% volume, like something vibrating. I
opened the rig up and everything is very secure so I am wondering if it is the

John,
It is very likely a wire stuck (magnetically) to the speaker and touching
the speaker cone. It could be on the outside of the speaker (if you are
fortunate) or it could be on the inside and you will have to remove the
speaker to see it.

Roy,
I may be wrong, but I would suspect a bad solder joint somewhere - things
expand when they get hot and your symptoms do not sound like there is any
particular component that has failed. Because your stated problem seems to
