I.M.H.O only the audio notch is impressive with the KDSP2.
The CW noise reduction is OK, but the SSB has far too many artifacts present to
be useful. Much better results from a BHI external unit.
I do hope that the K3 DSP is better.

Hello everyone here.
Last week , I posted a mail on this list , reporting a problem with my K2.
Strange behaviour , sometimes loosing all the commands on the front pannel ,
sometimes loosing RX sensitivity , and recovering it by pushing band+ and
band - , I even found the K2 in TX mod e, mode
I just put black tape across all the open holes from the inside. I figure it
might also help with cooling (controlling where air enters and exits).

Oh, Dom this is priceless!! Too funny.
I could see how randomly placed natural semi-conductors could mess up a

I wonder if anyone else has had problems with creatures getting into the

I ran the beacon monitor Faros by VE3NEA for a few weeks and it was
quite amazing how often DX beacons were detected even on the higher HF
bands even using my modest antenna. I would have loved to be able to

I can confirm that the propagation has been good enough from the UK on 20m
also. A couple of weeks back we spent a week in the Outer Hebrides solely to
play radio (helped being on an island with antennas optimised for low angle
radiation) and we worked Japan (never heard a pileup from JA before)
Don't know where you got that info from. I have a sticker also; number 0009.
Able to leap tall pileups with a

OK...so my sticker is presently on my old rear panel...but I still have one. :)

Hi Don,
Thanks for this. I can confirm that my problem was yet another
manifestation of the open circuit RFC15 - although with a twist. I found
that I could only get stable performance by having the top cover on as well,
then running CAL PLL. Running this routine without the top cover

Hi all,
Being from San Diego, I'm very concerned about all the fires in the

Some remote areas are likely to now be cut off from power and
communications. I hope that
Lack of spots has never stopped DX contesting. Tune in this weekend
for the CQWW DX SSB contest (yeah, it is phone...ugh). You'll be
dazzled by all the DX on 20, 15, and maybe even some good stuff on
10 if you are there enough (not just trans-equatorial).
As for the sun...here is today's photo
