Hi Group,
I have recently completed the construction of this kit which is now under
test run. It has been well constructed and caliberated with spectogram. It
is my 6th K2. It includes the following options:
KSB2, KDSP2, KNB2, KBT2, K160RX
My price is USD1299 plus shipping costs. The sale
Hi Group
I has just completed a K2 with the following options:
KDSP2 - digital signal processing module
KSB2 SSB adapter;
KNB2 noise blanker;
K160RX 1.8Mhz module and additional RX antenna input;
KBT2 battery kit for portable operation.
The kit is basically unused except some test runs. The
The two resistors should also be on the bandolier.

I haven't noticed any looseness in mine since
Enjoy your experience with kit building. I built 6 K2 in the past and still
enjoy building it.

Subject: [Elecraft] Status report K2 #4155
Hi Mike,
There is a amp-key kit provided by elecraft at a cost of USD5.
There is no ALC communication between the external PA and K2. I use my K2
with my ICOM ICPW-1. With an input of 15 watts, I shall get an output of
about 300 watts.
The output of the PA is controlled by the input power
To supplement Lee's email, I would say that ALC is a way to protect the PA
from overdrive.
For example, if I set proper ALC level at my ICPW-1 to get only 500 watts
(the full output of PW-1 is 1 kw), even when I turn the RF power control on
my IC756pro2 to full scale, the ALC feedback voltage
Hi Bart,
I built 7 K2s in the past. I would prefer the following sequence out of my
own personal preference:
1.k2 noise blanker - it is the easiest to build.
2.k2 160m 2nd antenna option - again it is easy to build
3.k2 internal battery operation - you can use battery to operate
Hi Group,
If you are in Asia Pacific region, please feel free to contact me for
building your K2. My price is reasonable because I simply like building
kits.

Hi,
I have received a message from my friend in Singapore that K3 is coming. He
even saw the proto type. Is it true? Any information releasable to us?

First of all, I love K2 and built a number of them. However, I have similar
experience for my other rigs. Sometimes, what happened will depend on band
conditions.

Hi OM,
Shall we back to basic? One of the advantages of kits from Elecraft is
'without' SMD stuff for the 'normal' skill builders. I consider myself is a
'normal' skill builders though I can handle SMD. Without SMD, most of
elecraft kits can be handled by simple and easily avaliable tools.
We mostly live in high rise multi-storey condominium in Hong Kong. Outdoor
huge antennas are definitely out of question. While most of the time using
QRP, QRO is not a sin especially in some marginal and difficult situation.
In case necessary, I use my K2 to drive my ICOM ICPW-1 to get about
Let us look at the matter in a different way. The skill required in the
construction a real QRO solid state power amplifer is different. KPA800
will be an entire different training for myself as a non-radio profession.
Cheers,

The construction technique and tuning procedures would be different from K2.
It should be an interesting construction experience.
