I again suggest that new EM folks (aka newbies) be given info and directed

questions do NOT have to be answered again and again by EM senior citizens.
No arguments here. However, you used the term number

D- There are various methods --- a main subject of this list --- especially
if there is NO Condorcet (Head to Head) winner

I know you've probably explained it before briefly, but could you lay out
what number voting is? I'm interested to learn of any methods that take us
in the right direction, and right now the only ones I know of are Approval
and Condorcet
My dad used to call numbers like 983 cannibal numbers (nine ate three).
Suppose a NINE member club (like the supreme court) has to decide where to
EAT, and there are exactly THREE restaurants to choose from.
How should they make this decision?
I'll give one suggestion at which you can take pot
Each folk can go to his/her own restaurant. Who needs a group ???
Vote YES or NO on each choice.
The most YES votes wins (for those who want to eat together).
Of course, *real* elections for public government officers are a whole lot
more serious --- see your daily media about the war in
http://www.fairvote.org/administration/cambridge.htm
With such software the ancient plurality/ minority rule regimes should be
deader than a proverbial doorknob ---but, of course, such regimes will fight
to the finish to stay in power.
In view of the Santa Clara County, CA vote to permit number voting, does
anyone know if there are Direct Recording Electronic (DRE) voting machines
that right now have software programs to have number voting for candidates ?
