What would be the best way to go about setting up elinks as the default
browser in an X-windows environment?
Ideally I would have this work the way most modern gui browsers do,

IN case you hadn't figured this out already, the few times I run across
a website that does not show at all, as you have described from
NYTimes.com I'll just use log onto the mobile sight instead.
m.facebook.com and m.gmail.com for example and it works just fine.
