Hello EMC Users/Developers
I'd like to bring up the discussion about Realtime Ethernet in EMC
again. There were several discussions about this topic, from RAW
Ethernet packages over RTNet to full fledged EthetCAT or SERCOS.
The problem with the latter seems to be the not so open, so called

If all you want is DXF 2 GCODE, then CamExpert is a not so expensive
solution too. But do not expect it to be a full CAM. It's big strength
is it's easyness. So even when you do not use it every day it is still
easy to use it.

the g code with
special comments in the g code which would eliminate the offset copy

In industry ethernet based realtime protocols are used more and more
with good success on pretty inexpensive and reliable hardware.
Especially I have SERCOS and EtherCAT in mind.
Both of these buses have fast cycles from 30us up, both have software
masters on a standard ethernet controller and
Dear List
I have an XY plasma cutter (gantry) with an externally height
controlled (Dynatorch THC) W Axis for the plasma torch.
This is my primary tool.
Now I would like to add a secondary tool on a Z axis mounted right
beside the W Axis on the gantry. This tool would be used for
engraving or
Hi Tomek
What do you mean with your question?
The maximum speed is given by your whole drive chain and does not
have much to do with the Microflex Drives. The Motors have
a maximum allowed rpm, maybe you use a gear and ballscrew. This
gives you the maximum speed (Additionally ballscrews have a
Dear EMC2 users
As I progress on my servo driven Plasma Cutting Machine I now
have to tune the system, especially the Servodrives.
So far I have done a superficial servo tuning, rising Pgain until
the drive oscillates, lower again until the oscillation stops.
Same with Igain. Dgain was left at 0
Hello
I am on my way on building a gantry table for a plasma cutter and
setting up EMC. So far i am very impressed with EMC, thanks for
that great work.
I am thinking about adding a second servo motor to the X Axis so
that it would be driven on both supported sides of the gantry.
However I am not
Hi List
I hope this question is not too off topic.
How do you document your machine's wiring (schematic), emc
hal configuration (diagram), etc?
Which Linux Software is most useful for this task?
Thanks for any hints
