Phaewryn and Everyone, What you say rings true for me. Yes, I think there is a definite lack of animal abuse and welfare education in the U.S.. I think we are in denial still, as a society; I know I have been over the years.I was wondering if there is an event or time you can pinpoint that
Phaewryn, I agree with you completely. I really liked Belinda's first draft. I think the shock is just what people need to open there eyes and see the horrible cruelty that there careless indifference causes for these poor babies. Why sugar coat it .We all want to turn our heads when faced with

I have had good results so far with immuno-regulin.
The vet started my Smokey on shots several months
back. He is positive and kept on getting fevers. He
hasn't had a fever since March. Smokey started gaining
weight and right now he seems to be doing really good.

Cindy, are you doing subQ shots or is the vet doing IV? What is the protocol? I have seen .2cc every day for 4 days, then .2cc once a week for 4 weeks, then .2cc monthly. Have also seen .4cc once a day for 4 days, .4cc once a week for 4 weeks and .4cc every 4 months. I have a feleuk baby I want to

We first started Smokey on 2 shots per week subq. He

Thanks. It is good to hear that you are having such good results with subq injections -- I was somewhat hesitant to start the drug subq since I think research indicates that it should be given IV to get the best results. Wanted to do subq but just couldn't make up my mind. By the way, I buy my own
I lost my Twinkletoes this morning to complications of malabsorption (not FELV related). She was 5 months. She has a sister who is also very small, and I'm trying to do some research on this condition. Does anyone know anything about it?

My Stinky had that. She ate all of the time but she
just kept on losing weight. She passed away in
February. I really don't know alot about
malabsorption but poor Stinky really got so skinny.
She was a big cat until then. Sinky wasn't felv+. I
am so sorry your Twinkletoes passed away.

Kelly,
I'm so sorry about your loss of Twinkletoes. Another one so young. It
just tears your heart out when they get so little time in our love and
protection. IBD kitties have problems with not absorbing nutrients in
their food. B12 shots seem to help with that. I know there are other

Hi Nina,
My vet did a fecal on her yesterday. She was neg for coccidia and parasites. (She had continuous diarrhea). He gave her albon anyway, because he hoped that she might actually have coccidia anyway and it might have been flushed out of her system due to all the diarrhea.
She was getting

I am giving it to Smokey subq. Smokey was running
fevers back in January and February. The vet wanted
to try using the immuno-regulin to see if it might

Aw Karen, I'm glad you know that you are not alone. We do all
understand, knowing that helps when we're in such pain, but grieving is
something that we each have to do in our own way, in our own time. Many

never be healed.

Yeah, that's just bad bedside manner. She was trying to get you to drop it,
not trying to be helpful to you or your cat. I'd seek another practice, and I'd
write a letter to the VET at the clinic you have now, explaining WHY you
left.
