My thoughts go out to you. I am 86 and not in good health. I lost
my husband of 43 years just 3 months ago, as well as losing two other
old cats. It is was heart breaking to lose all of them.

This is my experience too. I've had FelV cats who lived to be 8 or 9
and one of my FelV cats is about 11 and still OK. These cats lived
with many other negative cats. These were adult cats... I understand
FelV is most dangerous to kittens whose immune systems are not fully
developed.

cats with anemia. I have not heard the same about Immunoregolin or
any other drugs used for FelV. Some of us in the Felv group have

It is encouraging to know that FelV is NOT a death sentence with
every cat. Usually if is fatal with kittens however, as their immune
systems are not fully developed.
Robert, I am glad this SC woman has received monetary help, but I too
worry about the future care she and her cats will need. I think

Kelley, I can certainly understand your dilema. Some FelV cats never
get sick, but if they do you will have a lot of veterinary expense.
Our lost cost clinic isn't cheap either, and if you are struggling
just to buy cat food and litter I hope you can rehome the FelV cats.

old. Older cats seem able to fight it off sometimes.

I am so sorry. I have a FelV section in my private cat sanctuary
and I've euthanized so many. All but one died from a FelV pos.
