This will be the first of two posts. This is more informational. The
next will have my questions about FELV.

Hi, I use to have a cat that was jealous of my being on the phone. First
he would get up on my desk and SCREAM in my ear. When that didn't work
to get me off the phone he would jump down and with one bite cut the
phone cord. I always had to keep several cords on hand at all times.

Hi Amy,
As so many others have said, 'welcome', but I'm sorry you had to find us.
Homer sounds like a wonderful guy and he is surely lucky to have you as a Mom!
You've received wonderful suggestions; and I think all your questions were answered except for the administration of the Interferon. It

Amy,

can kill a FeLV cat
Hi Julie-
I wanted to respond to your comment about being psychologically
accustomed to the outdoors - it's true, and it's another reason why
we don't make him stay in all the time. We want his life to be as
close to what he's used to as possible. I think he would be worse

I'm glad you are getting a lot of help regarding sweet Homer. As far as his seizures go, I have just found out recently that there is little on the internet about cats with epilepsy. There is lots about canine epilepsy, though. A lady who is listowner of one of my canine epilepsy groups just
Thanks, Carla. That sounds like a really touchy decision to have to make. Do you know if epogen is the same as procrit for humans? Procrit is used to treat anemia related to chemo...I wonder if cats can use it if it might have less risk of side effects?

Alicia, I'm sorry you are having to go through this. We've all had to

My friend in high school had a pot-bellied pig named Stinky. She was supposed to get
a car for her 16th birthday, so we went to her house all excited thinking that's what
she got. Turns out her parents couldn't afford it afterall, so they got her a pet pig
instead! How they made
My friend/foster parent Joyce's teenage daughter went to the flea market and
came home with a baby pig (supposedly pot-bellied but we're not really sure)
- paid $100 for it with her first paycheck during 9/11 when Joyce was stuck
out in Kansas and couldn't get home! It was put in the garage
Brenda,
Were you thinking of offering your home on a permanent basis, or just for the 2 weeks?

Just for the two weeks. I could have done
it a little longer, but they said 2 weeks. I have kitty condos that
are floor to ceiling, carpeted, ramped, etc. They are each big enough
for 3 cats from same family. The condos are inside a large screened

Jo,
That's funny Charmed bounced back faster when neutered than his
brothers. He was like nothing ever happen. The other seemed a
little shaken over the ordeal. I think it was the stay over night

So glad that Sash is doing so well. Sounds like what you are
