I've finally gotten fink to work and would like to run gaim. i
installed it without error but when i startx and type gaim in the xterm
window, i get buffer error. any idea what that means? i'm running the
latest fink binaries on panther. also, i keep reading aobut
xdarwin.app what is that

i don't know about most of the errors, but have you tried export
DISPLAY=:0 before doing kdeinit for the can't open display command
(bash command) the faq also provides the command for tcsh
