Well, I used debian because it was what im familiar with the build environment for firebird for and the base image is 51mb, a completely built 2.5 image is 75mb 3.0 balloons up to 120mb. I could switch to building under jessie-slim which has a 30mb base size. Note these sizes are all the compressed
