Dan,
Funny you should mention the Wavenode/Flex connection.
About 2 years ago, I was working with Alan in the Wavenode booth at Pacificon.
The Flex booth was the next booth. I saw that the Wavenode WN2 and the Flex
would be a perfect marriage. Alan spoke to the Flex people, but I have not

Hi All,
There have been discussions over the years about AGC in good
old analog recevers as compared to AGC in modern receivers that
use DSP for the final filters and the AGC.
It is not obvious what kind of testing one should perform to find
out whether an AGC design is good or not so good. I
I'll try again. I have a SDR-1000 that I have been using on a Dell 4600 with XP
sp3, and it has worked fine. The computer cratered and I purchased a Dell
Insipiron MT560. Dual core with windows 7 64 bit. The computer didn't have a
parallel port. Purchased a Moschip PCIe x1 board as the
Bill,
PowerSDR with the SDR-1000 will not work using a 64-bit operating system and as
such, it is not supported.

Rick,
It is only out to the short list beta testers at this point. So far, the
results are looking good. So, (this is only an UNOFFICIAL opinion) it
should be out to the public beta soon.

It is half true.
PowerSDR v2.0.17 is currently being tested by the internal alpha/beta test team
and is not available as a public beta. As it currently stands, there are some
issues that would prevent it from being released as a public beta, so the time
fame for when the next beta release is

Awhile back I had some issues that caused me to have to sell my Flex 5K.
The plan at the time was to get a 1500 and I actually ordered one but
unfortunately while waiting for it, other issues came up and I had to
cancel the order.
Well finally it looks like I can once again order a 1500 when
Replying to my own post Hi Just to clarify something and make
sure there are no misunderstandings. The issues I reffered to in my
post below were NOT with the 5K itself. I loved it. They were of a
personal financial nature.
Sorry about that.

To bad it is not build in.
Is any other way possible may be by using a mutilexer in front of the existing

If it has to be external:
Are there any other SWR heads (low cost) with USB hookup (could be without a

In case you need a computer for an SDR:
About a month ago, Tim, N9PUZ, asked about a bare bones computer kit
at Tiger Direct which used the subject mobo. Neal Campbell commented
he had formerly used the mobo in one of the computers he sold and
said it would work well with SDR.

Jerry,
That is spectacularly low CPU usage. I have a Athlon II X4 640 that has
a faster clock speed of 3Ghz and I still get CPU loads from min 6% to
29% and the 4th core runs heavily on my machine.
Cores 1, 2, and 3 hardly motor on my PC but Power SDR seems to want to
