Hi Saikrishna,
Is there a top level link I can point people to from the main flightgear
download page? I'm not personally familiar with launchpad or the 'ppa'
acronym. I'd love to keep the entry on the flightgear page as concise as
possible. Is there a particular distribution this applies to?
You can use https://launchpad.net/~saiarcot895/+archive/flightgear.
There's a section on the page for users to easily add the PPA
(basically the location of the packages) to their system.
This applies to Ubuntu Oneiric (11.10), Ubuntu Precise (12.04), Ubuntu
Quantal (12.10), and Ubuntu Raring
Ok, thanks, I will add the link on the main download page and please feel
free to review it and send me any needed corrections or improvements.
Thanks,
Curt.

Maybe another possibility is to hang in a second mac slave to built
maclauncher/FlightGear against SDK 10.5 and target 10.5. I could spend one of
my FGx slaves once for such, when it makes sense for the project to get 10.5
support on intel back. Or another possibility is I try to build the
Just tried this and an error.. it seems the Materials directory is missing

I noticed this earlier. I sent in a build more than an hour ago, and
it's still waiting.
When it is published, I'll send out an email. The downside here is that
you'll have to download the 750 MB again.

It's sort of a yes and no. Technically, the current configuration
builds smaller packages (where the largest package is about 500 MB,
and the package which must be downloaded for the fix). However, based
on what I'm seeing, with the current configuration, if one of the
packages change, then
fgfs-base has been updated. I recommend that for now, you run sudo
apt-get update and sudo apt-get install fgfs-base, so that you only
have to download 540 MB instead of about 750 MB.
Note that the Software Updater will still annoy you to update the other
packages, even though there were no
