yes, it is!
There's a patch for pygame-1.7 here and also in svn contrib/patches:

yes, works fine now!
thanks a lot!
Andreas
You will need to apply the patch to the pygame sources and build them.
Afterwards it will work fine.

Might be - I don't recall error stack trace, but the last line did mention
'KeyError: 'subtitles''. Also, the freevo version I'm using is 1.7.1, not
1.7.2-svn. Also, I could never play this DVD on my HD from under Freevo (at
least not in 1.7.1 version). As I mentioned, xine on its own plays it
I was able to play it before... cant remember which frevo version, but
probably with 1.7.0.

Ok, I am afraid I don't know what I have changed for it to work
But it works now, I am able to schedule a record, and mplayer stays in
memory dumping the .ts file on the hard disc.
Just one little annoying thing:
VCR_CMD variable contains the command which is launched by a /bin/sh shell.

I have had this same problem before. It had to do with the drivers not
loading correctly I believe. Which drivers are you using, NVidia's binary?

Yes, nVidia binary proprietary. I think I didn't compile them from the
source... I have nVidia MX440. Was it smth in config settings or the
binaries themselves (ie, should I compile from the source instead?)

If I understand this correctly you have had several problems.
1) Initially nothing was being recorded, hence no image file
2) Now the MPlayer process is not being killed.
Are you using freevo-1.7.1 or the svn rel-1 version?
I ask because there is some odd code in the
Are you sure the driver is actually loaded? Try running nvidia-settings
in X and see what it says. I believe when I had this issue the drivers
were not loading properly. What video card do you have? Some of the
older cards require that you run a 'legacy' driver or else the driver
won't

When I start freevo, I get the usual sentence:
ROM_DRIVES: Auto-detected and added ('/media/cdrom0', '/dev/hdc', 'CD-1')
Then, I go into Movies directory, and I see:
CD-1 (TERMINATOR)
instead of simply:
TERMINATOR
If I click on OK on my MCE remote, I enter the CD-1 directory, and I see

Hmm... Run nvidia-settings and it really did turn out that despite the log
saying that TV is running at 1024x768, in reality the resolution was
640x480. Alas, nvidia-settings couldn't save xorg.conf file, so I had to try
it under dual monitor. The results _seem_ to be better than before (in terms
