FVWM: Curved corners on title bar - easy to do yet?

2009-08-13 Thread Chris G
I'm thinking of moving back to fvwm2 (from xfce on Ubuntu) but one of the things I *really* want, even though it seems trivial, is the ability to have curved/rounded corners on the title bar. Is this easy to do in fvwm2 yet? -- Chris Green

FVWM: Simplest way to get Gnome Main Menu on fvwm desktop?

2008-09-23 Thread Chris G
Up until now I have run a minimal gnome-panel on my fvwm desktop to get access to the Gnome menus. However I would prefer not to have to do this as I have found a better use for the space it occupies. So, what's the easiest way to run the Gnome Main Menu applet from fvwm, preferably from an fvwm

FVWM: Desktops versus Pages - how to use?

2008-05-22 Thread Chris G
I've never quite made my mind up whether to use several Desktops or several Pages on one desktop, what are the reasons (if any) for choosing one or the other? I've never found any use for running a program with a window larger than my screen size, I rarely (but very occasionally) would like to

FVWM: Is there a more up to date version (or alternative) for fvwm-menu-desktop?

2008-05-19 Thread Chris G
The fvwm-menu-desktop utility seems to have a very out of date view of how Gnome menus work (or where they are), I think it *may* be looking for the Gnome 1 menus. Is there an alternative that can give me Gnome 2 menus (specifically the Applications and System menus) in fvwm or has anyone

FVWM: The window_ops_func, how do Move and Resize work?

If I click on the button at the left hand end of the title bar I get the window_ops_func. The Minimize, Maximise, Kill and Close options do exactly what I expect (and what they say) but I can't get Move or Resize to do anything at all. Have I broken something or, if not, how are they supposed to

FVWM: Really simple (isn't it?) question - how to change colours?

2008-05-16 Thread Chris G
I thought this should be really simple but reading the fvwm2 man page hasn't really told me how to do it. How do I change colours in fvwm2? I only actually want to change the colours of borders and title bars to get a 'flatter' look than the default with a colour rather than grey. Presumably
