Anyone know what would be involved in reviving the patch from long ago adding
disk io to the core metrics?[1]
I see that there's something similar for solaris[1], but digging around in the
solaris impl[2] shows this is coming from a kstat_read(3KSTAT), so that isn't
going to work for linux.
There's a small but active group of people who are using forks of this
unmaintained cookbook: https://github.com/hw-cookbooks/ganglia
We're considering creating a public fork to merge our efforts, and I thought it
might be nice to have it be part of the https://github.com/ganglia org.
I'm in, especially to help with the boring support, testing c stuff.
Btw, has anyone played with the source recipe on deb platforms? I'm still
running the ancient package that Ubuntu precise ships, and would love to
upgrade.
