Re: [Ganglia-developers] I have problems with Gmond Python Module for Monitoring NVIDIA GPU with Rocks 6.1.1
Hello Fany, First thing, if you are trying with any of the recent versions of ganglia(gmond/gweb), you won't need to run the patch at all. It needed in a lot earlier versions. Secondly, if you are using stable releases, then it should be OK. However, as I have recently contributed with some enhancements/changes on this module. So, as per side note, I will like to mention that, if you are trying to install the gpu module from latest github repository version ( https://github.com/ganglia/gmond_python_modules/tree/master/gpu/nvidia) , you will also have to take the changes for ganglia-web module from this pull request(https://github.com/ganglia/ganglia-web/pull/243) , which is currently under review(hope to get merged soon). [Ganglia-developers] [GSOC] Got Passed In Evaluation
Hello, I am happy to say that, I recently got result from GSOC and got passed successfully. I will like to thank to you all to help me passing the program by answering questions, reviewing, giving feedbacks. My mentor, Rajat Phull, helped me extensively throughout the summer of code term, which helped me keeping myself on track. Also thanks Daniel to merge one of my pull requests. Thanks to the reviewers for valuable feedbacks as well. There are still few things left in completing the tasks I worked on as part of GSOC, like: - Got feedback on ganglia-web module to implement the generalization differently, I will follow up on that. - Complete the documentation I am writing to sum up the staffs I have been working on. - Test the module on a bigger cluster and fix if any bug arises etc. I will be working on those for the next few days. Also, as I mentioned before, as now I have some knowledge on the architecture and some areas, I will like to continue contributing in various areas. It always feels good to a pull requests getting merged which will help tons of users using ganglia in more better way. Looking forward to be a part of this community. Regards Rana -- Slashdot TV. [Ganglia-developers] Ganglia-Web Genralization of php graph files
Hello Everyone, For multiple devices under a core(for example multiple gpu), it seems currently the ganglia-web module looks for separate php file for each device(such as gpu0_metricname_report.php, gpu1_metricname_report.php) . I am trying to generalize this section for gpu module so that only one file can have definition for all devices under a node. Seems like, setting the url parameter 'g'(specifying a graph) can help go ahead with this. However, I can't find a way, with which it may be possible to set this param from a metric module's configuration. Can anyone please give some clue if its possible to custom set for this param? Currently it doesn't being set at all and instead 'm' param is set with same full name of the metric. Also, Suggestions on solving above generalization issues will also be helpful. [Ganglia-developers] Representation Of GPU Events
Hello everyone, I am working on enhancing the nvidia GPU plugin module. I have implemented some functionality to catch certain *GPU events which occur on various critical state changes* inside GPU. Now, I am little confused about how the representation of events will be really be helpful. For example, we might show number of events in a certain timeframe. But that will not be of much information about what kind of events occurred. So, just wondering if anybody have any suggestion/idea about how this representation would be meaningful. [Ganglia-developers] Collecting Metric Without Showing Any Graph/Info On Host Overview
Hello Everyone, I have noticed that, to customize whether a metric is to be shown as graph or as constant value inside 'Host Overview' section, are determined by slope value, where 'zero' indicates to show on host overview and other values('both'/'positive' etc) indicates to show on graph section. Now*, how I can tell to just store a metric without showing it anywhere, so that I can use it on a separate graph, which might aggregate more than one metric?* Also, to customize a graph, as I noticed that, metric need to be named as '*_report' and the front-end php file inside 'graph.d' need to be named *_report.php . *Can it be customize in some other way, so that I don't have to rename a metric to be able to customize its graph?* Regards Rana -- HPCC Systems Open Source Big Data Platform from LexisNexis Risk Solutions Find What Matters Most in Your Big Data with HPCC Systems Open Source.
