Hi,
is it possible to spoof data into ganglia without the node timestamp
(REPORTED=...) being updated?
I'm asking because I gather and measure external quantities eg. power,
fans, temperatures, infiniband bandwidth, ... but if I push these into
ganglia indiscriminately then down machines always

ganglia data from other unforseen problems. it's a pain to have to go
in and edit rrd files.

the below patch fixes/hacks-around the problem by simply skipping all
VLAN interfaces - anything with a '.' in the name.
doesn't seem right somehow, but seems to work for me.
