Thanks Julie!
That must be it. The poor guy hasn't seen any action in years so I can't
blame him for being a bit frustrated! Will use more caution this time of
year from now on.

I can't say enough bad stuff about DHL, but I've had trouble with all of them
over the years.
For instance. I ordered some snake tongs before my trip to Sulawesi last fall
at the last possible moment. They were garunteed the day I left before noon.
That was fine, because my flight out of
I hand fed mine babyfood (chicken mixed with a little water and calcium
dust) by using a syringe and putting a dab of it on her face. She would
lick off quite a bit. I did eventually have to have her euthanized
because she had a huge abdominal mass. It cost about 35 dollars to have
her put

PICTUS GECKOS
I recently purchased 2 Pictus Geckos and I know absolutely nothing about
them, I have looked up online but not overly sure about using that
information. I like to get personal best for any lizard in my care. If
any one can tell me anything about these little guys it would be much
Thank you Jason!

Hi Lynn,
If that continues then do take in a fecal sample.

Lynn,
Make sure you keep her well hydrated as ell, I had similar issues with three
of the first geckos I bought. I took them to the vet and the vet could not
find anything wrong with them. All three perished I think it was maybee a
bad batch of geckos from the mass production gecko farms But
If you refrigerate the supplements they will last longer. Each company puts
an expiration date on the container so you know when they expire. If the
expiration date has past, obviously, they should not be fed to your geckos
because over time they will degrade into different chemical
Calendars are easy to make. I think each breeder should do one for this next
year
and let me work them into the zoos i work with at their gift shops.

Melody,
How did you go about getting a letter of approval for shipping geckos? That
is something I should look into getting if possible.
Jason
Thanks for the advice! Looks like it's best to do use UPS as I've been
doing, just use the smallest box possible. I have my letter of approval
I used to work for Fedex... and trust me you do not want to ever consider
them for shipping live animal. I worked for the HazMat shipping at fedex
and we would hear horror stories from the docks about how they had thrown
around packages containing live fish... needless to say the the packages
Having shipped with UPS for a few years now I have yet to come across
many UPS employees that know the policy on shipping geckos. I'd bring a
copy of their policy with you just in case you get this ignorance deal.

Julie and Jared,
If you are going to put Uroplatus in Sterilites, you need to cut large
ventilation ports. I mean large too. I have most of my geckos in steriltes
that are 25-30 gallons in size. All of them have 4x 10 inch vents cut out
of the sides going vertically. I use expanded clay

Hi, I regularly breed Australian C.louisiadensis but I am unsure how similar
these are to your species. I will summarise my basic breeding rules and you
can quiz on finer details as needed
1. Calcium supply to females is essential. Mine lay 5-9 clutches per season

I use vermiculite as cricket substrate. It absorbs any excess moisture
and therefore reduces the smell. I use it as an egg laying medium and
once the eggs have hatched and it has dried up I tip the tub out in the
cricket enclosure to become the substrate-just half a centimeter or so
is enough.

BTW, I
I've been receiving an inordanant amount of spam from the list, but the
subject lines are so ridiculus, I get a laugh out of them. More on topic,
we had a huge 4-5 inch house gecko that used to come out on patio wall
everynight, haven't seen him in awhile.
I know this may sound strange, but he may of died and shriveled up? If this
is the case, it may be hard to find him as he/she may look like debris.
This is just a theory of course.
I should ask how large it was, if it was a baby, then the my first
assumption may be right. Also, was it left

A bunch of
ants streamed in the cage, so maybe he'll eat those.
beware! I recently lost some geckos to ants. THey will eat your gecko and
crickets very quickly.
They can appear with out notice and wreak havoc.

Hello Ray,
Is it possible to add something to the profile? Perhaps something like
experiences or keeping, where people can write the species they have. This
way you can see the species people have, if you want information about a
specie you know who you can ask.
Regards,
Ivan
