Which later 2.4 kernels has this ability?
I'm running 2.4.20 and I can burn CD's using an ATAPI device with
cdrecord. I can't use disc-at-once though, since AFAIK cdrdao doesn't
accept ATAP devices.

port?
I haven't done it with WinCVS since I prefer TortoiseCVS for most
operations. To get that to work with a non-standard port, I created a
small batch file that calls the real ssh command with the correct
parameter.

When you specify --ogg, the flac stream is embedded into an
ogg-container. I don't think it's really useful.

I have unmerged them, they are not in /var/cache/edb/world, but they
still show up. To circumvent the problem I don't use -d, but that's far
from a real solution.

list correct DNS-servers?
- can you ping machines via IP addres instead of host name?
- does 'route' list a default gateway?
Perhaps /etc/init.d/net.eth0 stop removed the default gateway. Maybe it
works if you reverse the order... first stop eth0, than start eth1?

I'm pretty sure it's the other way around

That only works if you have a payed Yahoo-account.

It could be done if you could run grub under Windows, to set another
default. Is it possible to compile grub under Windows? Somehow I doubt
it, but I would be glad to be proven wrong.

I can cause the reboot via RemotelyAnywhere, but how

Yes. I also think it is more clean and elegant.

At least, I've seen it work for a networkerd printer, though I don't

Anyway, if you want to connect from Windows without samba, you'll have
to take an unintuitive step: when adding the printer in Windows, *don't*
specify 'network printer'. Specify 'local printer' instead
