We have set compiler flags to compile the packages. But when emerge
grabs java source codes and compile (for example eclipse sdk), will it
have the any optimizations?

Is there a way to jail scp and sftp users to their homes, just like we
could do it with proftpd? Even though the users cannot open files,
they can still browse the file system :(

After kernel boot-up, I've been seeing some messages from init
scripts, that I have no idea how to fix them. It goes like this:

First verify that rc.conf has the folowing
DISPLAYMANAGER=kdm
XSESSION=kde-3.1.4
Then as root start the xdm service
/etc/init.d/xdm start
You should get the kdm login manager
